Can't our friends down South make a 30 round AR pistol marked magazine so we can have them up here pinned to 10 rounds? Would be nice to have ten rounds but the 30 round look. :D

Or is there something like this already? Searched around but couldn't find any info.

I think it's been tried numerous times and rejected. Just couple two LAR-15's together. Same difference...

Someone was going to sell single-stach thermold pistol mags with the look of a 20 rounder - I don;t know if it ever got off thr ground though... Wantsalls maybe?

I saw someone on here was making a poly sleeve that fit over the LAR mags so they looked like 30 rounders and could fit properly in a mag pouch. Not sure what became of that but it looked promising.

2 LAR-15's coupled together look like 30 rounders... and fit in a standard magazine pouch. And the bonus is they hold legally 20 rounds vs. 5 or 10.

actually there are 10/30 polymer 9mm AR mags in Canada already> I had 2
9mm ARs but they are since gone. Problem is they came in very early on and are very scarce and as such will probably cost a lot more than they are worth.

+ 1 was thinking this would work too.

I'm not a fan of the LAR couplers. The rounds hanging out the bottom prohibiting the mag being used as a monopod and the awkward flip of the magazine on a speed reload just feels wrong. A sleeve or modified "mag pull" design would work very well attached to a LAR mag. Something like that with a standard 30 round side by side mag coupler would be very interesting.

Those mags are most likley prohib as they were marked and pinned and not manufactured as 10 round 9mm lar mags. Thats why they are scarce. If Questar brought them in before and can't now then thats the reason. Otherwise if you could pin a promag at ten and mark it lar pistol they would be no problem to import.

not to derail the thread but i was told that the lar 10 round mag, is legal with ten rounds but illegal if it is loaded with ten round in a rifle. told by the store i bought my lar 10 at. is this true?

No it is not, PROVIDED that the magazine is marked RRA Model 15 LAR Magazine 223/5.56 NATO 10 Round Capacity. This identifies it as a PISTOL magazine that just happens to fit in a rifle. It doesn't matter how many rounds (up to 10) you load in it, it's legal to use in a rifle.

Magazines built and intended for a pistol are limited to 10.

Magazines built and intended for a centrefire rifle are limited to 5.

If a magazine built and intended for a pistol happens to fit into a centrefire rifle, it is still legal.

Would somebody... ANYBODY.... please make a magazine sticky in the Legalese section.
