When is the Ruger 77/357 out In Canada?

I've watched all those videos and no where does it say you can use .38 Special, or mention this 'rim locked' issue. That's why I was hoping you could point me to where you saw an official video say it was able to fire .38 Special. Because from reading the manual I would say they don't advise it.

I would hazard a guess the the only issues would be feeding from the magazine, as people have been shooting both cartridges in rifles and revolvers without issue for decades. .38 probably just wont feed reliably from the rotary mag so Ruger advises to not use 'em.

Must have been in a review I heard that then, my bad. Of the 6 reviews I've watched/read I have heard of this possible issue of "rim lock" but everyone who has shot .38Spl has not had any issue other then a total change in POI

When the 357 Magnum was first brought out it was successful in harvesting both moose and elk. I myself would load it up with the Barnes bullets if I was going to use it foe a bush bun and keep my shots under 100 yards for moose or elk and only take a broadside shot.

I am just curious, when I lived in Alta it was against the game act to hunt big game with a rifle having a caliber of less than .23 and/or a case length of less than 1.75". So my question is three fold a) Have they changed the law regarding caliber and case length, b) possibly you were hunting a different province c) you admitted to a game infraction on an open forum?
Just curious !!!

There hasn't been a minimum cartridge length in Alberta for a few years now. I took my Rossi 92 in 357 out the fall after bullet length was dropped and dumped a doe mule deer at about 35 yards. All it took was a single 158 grain SWC with gas check. The bullet went out the other side of the deer. All I had that year were doe tags and I hunted with cast bullets in .30-30, .357 mag, 35 remington and 303 over the years. All took deer with one shot and no tracking wounded game. And all were 150 to 200 grain bullets under 1500 fps. Bullet placement counts, so does a good stalk to minimize the distance of the shot.

BTW: I am very aware of the Alberta hunting regulations and do not break any of them at any time.

Asked and answered, thanks. Hoping it was one of the first 2 options.
Good to know, I have an opportunity to come down cougar hunting and really wanted to use my 92 in 44-40, now I can!!!

I saw some very impressive cougar tracks near the junction of the Montagneuse and the Peace.
