Sub-2000 Fail..... need advice from owners

to tell you the truth, i haven't tried. Can-Ammo had the KCI`s for 20 bucks, got 5 of them - they seem to work just fine (no problems of any sort in around 400 rounds)

I will experiment with one 10 round mag tomorrow, Im going to file down the front edge of the follower, it is already angled a bit.... I will take a few mm off, shouldnt affect the operation of the mag, should solve the issue with the last round clippin the front of the follower.

Will report tomorrow and post pics if it works, which I think it will, we are talking 1 or 2 millimeters, because is not every mag.

If the slew of RFBs in the EE is any indication, the best course of action is just to ditch the Keltec and buy a worthwhile firearm.

check the spring's in the mag. the JR carbine is having an issue like this with glock mags in 45ACP. The wife's sub2k did the same thing when it was newer, shot the #### out of it and it eventually stoped. Never payed much attention to it tho. Never really cared, its a plastic gun that FTE the last round, cycled the bolt, slaped in a mag and away we go lol check the springs tho, I pulled four apart and two were a lill off.
cheers

Anyone else see this emerging trend with Keltec products?

I've yet to have an FTF/FTE with with either my Sub-2000 or my SU-16........

Another vote for the KCI's.......they work just as well as the GLOCK 10-shot magazine that came with the Sub-2000 :yingyang: , if not better !

Kel-tec = awesome firearms... Specially for its original (US) price..
I have 4 Kel tec guns, only had a problem with two, RFB was quickly fixed by Vault, and Sub I fixed my self, since that haven't had any issues.. Also I'm anxiously waiting for the 5th... Ksg...
Yes I'm in love with Kel-tec.. :)

Hmm, maybe I'm reading too much into the negative press about them on here. I was getting the impression that they were not exactly Saturday Night Specials, but they weren't exactly Swiss Arms either. To be honest I was very excited about a lot of their products as they seem to be well liked down south, but then I saw the price and thought it was just too little gun for that kind of money.

If it works for you though have at it I guess!

My Rfb had major issues. Turns out every single one was mag related. IMHO fal mags suck compared to m14 mags. I do have some polymer LAR8 mags inbound, I hear they're much better.

I have around 1200 rounds through my Sub 2000 and have had no issues at all. I've been very happy with it. The plastic sights suck and should have been metal for the price we're paying in Canada but, whatever. It's a plastic gun that shoots well. My front sight cracked (almost crushed) after multiple adjustments, so I had them removed. It's still a fun gun to shoot.

I have the Glock model and I had the same thing happen a few times when the gun was new. I use 124 grain of various brands and once I had a couple hundred rounds down the pipe things seemed to break in and I haven't had any issues since. I probably have around 1000 rounds through it now and it is running great.

I purchased a rubber sleeve from tacticoolproducts.com and it's much more comfortable now, their recoil buffer seems to be a waste of time though. Cheap parts and delivery to Canada is no problem.

Just keep shooting, it will probably straighten itself out with some more use.
Very happy with my purchase. :ar15:

Good luck

Its the last round in the magazine so who cares. When you reload you will cycle the bolt and the empty will fall out anyway. As for the problem, its clearly mag related(mine has done it a couple times) and can be rectified with Gen 3 mags or KCI mags.

The Sub2000 is a cheap, lightweight non restricted toy. Some of you people need to stop expecting Swiss made precision from low budget FUNCTIONAL firearms intended for giggles not the olympics.

They are utilitarian, no-frills firearms that go bang every time someone pulls the trigger......and they do indeed offer some neat functional features (like folding frames/stocks, and very convenient magazine compatabilities)......:)....but they are never going to be "luxe" firearms right out of the box  (which is where most gripes about Canadian pricing seem to focus).....:yingyang:

I Have the Glock mag version.....mine would do the same, but after breaking in
seems fine now.
Being blowback it will get dirty.......maybe thats the original posters problem??
and do not over lube the gun.

here's a possibility...

If you have been consistently loading your mags to 10rnds you may have buggered the spring to the point that it just doesn't have enough tension to eject the last round out far enough to feed properly.

I have toasted a few 30rnd AR mags by overloading them when I was a dumb-ass new recruit during my time in the service..

just a thought

Having a bad day TDC? lol
Nope, just calling it as I see it....Everyday on this forum.

Over lubrication is far less of an issue than under lubrication. In this case, it has nothing to do with the ejection issues.

There is no way a new or near new Glock factory magazine spring is having "issues". Sorry, its not the problem.
