2012 Ontario Wolf / Coyote Licences

Heads up folks - ran into a snag here today.

The province is going to a new point of sale license system. The good news is you can buy your wolf / coyote license anywhere that sells hunting licenses. The bad news is that a large number of license issuers and Service Ontario issuers are not on line and may not be for quite a while. The SO desk in our community wont be on line to sell fishing or hunting licenses until Jan 30. Our closest issuer with a POS unit that works is a two hour drive from here.

SO - if you are needing a new 2012 license, start calling now to find out where you can get a license, as you may be solely disappointed trying to track one down next week..

Good news is that you don't have to worry about buying it if you go to where you deer hunt!

How did you make out anyways, send me a p.m., wanna know how you did, didn't see your truck in the usual spot.

Just a side note - You can buy fishing licenses online.

Really the sole benefit of living in southern ontario....small game license is all you need.

We should be able to do anything to do with liscences online like a lot of the of the US states. The whole phone application system is outdated at best.

At least I no longer have to go to the MNR office for a wolf/coyote tag .

Outdated? Their are still people (young and old) who cant figure out the phone system. They'll be hopelessly lost if it moves to an online system.

I can see the threads now bashing MNR for it.

One more reason to get rid of it.

Lots of options for technophobes out there (paper application/in person etc.)

I went and bought one in person this year along with my bear tag and she rang up like a $310 bill. I was like WTF. She tried to charge me for a none resident wolf tag license cuz I didn't live in the north. Sold me the bear tag as a resident though. An online tag system works for me to avoid less then brilliant people but then you run the risk of not having the tag mailed correctly and those postal workers just love hearing from you.
