Rifling through the vastness of the Internet I came across the ptrd I found out that one part in the long history of Marstar they sold the Russian PTRD anti material rifle. Has anyone ever seen one in live action, purchase one, or even just thinker with one. If I'd like your feedback of this rifle or in some case any other rifle of this type. Brownie points to anyone thats played with one in Canada lol

I drove out to Wolverine arms to buy a PTRD and ended up coming home with both a PTRD and a PTRS. The PTRS was no problem as it disassembled in half in a few seconds, but it was a chore to fit the PTRD into my little Honda Accord.

I ended up selling them when I got my Boys Anti tank rifle. A lot more design and curves, compared to the rough and basic look of the Russian rifles.

To my youth it almost sounds like a myth in Canada. Funny how we're not aloud to use an ak but an anti material rifle is totally legal. Come on the people we elect make no sence. Now the real question is where could I get a hold of one

I have seen one but didn't have a chance to fire it.
This was by far longest barrel I have ever seen, also it's heavier than it looks. Not easy to transport I bet.

My buddy had on e that I never got to shoot. If I came across one I would rebarrel it it 50 BMG those 14.5 rounds are money.

large bore military rifles

During the late 1950s and early 1960s, a lot of this stuff was available. The PTRD and PTRS, the 20mm Lahti, The Solothurn and others.

The Boyes anti-tank rifles sold for $89.95 and you could choose a Mark I or Mark II version. PIATs were less than a $20 bill.

I bought a small French anti-tank gun on wheels for $149 in the USA along with 20 rounds of ammo. When I pulled into Canada Customs at Fort Erie, with the gun in the back of a pick up truck under canvas, the Customs Officer asked what I had, then asked to see it. His comment was "that's neat," and then he charged me about $8 duty on it, and away we went.

There are still a few of these guns around, but expensive.

storing and transport is not a problem for me i got myself a lovely 2007 gmc sierra with the king cab and 8ft box so room is the least of my issues..... now where to find one... really gotta start driving to gun shows.
