930 FTE during rapid fire, also security model only holding 4 2 3/4?

I just went out to test the function of my 930 I was just shooting the cheap Wally world federal #8 shot. I started with 5 3" slugs then 5 2 3/4" 00 buck. Then I went rapid fire as fast as I could pull the trigger and had 2 FTE with 40 rounds of the cheap stuff. Is this normal or is there some tweaking I could do? Also I was only able to fit 4 2 3/4 shells in the mag tube.
 
If its failing to eject it may just be a rough chamber that could use some TCL, or it might just hate the cheap stuff.
As for not fitting more rounds in the tube, it may be plugged for hunting.
Thats where I would start.
 
The FTE were the brass got caught in the ejection port the plastic part of the shell was out of the ejection port. And no plug in I took it out.
 
Go back and shoot some more 3" magnum slugs.

I'd forego the testing part and just shoot about 15-30 of them and see how it like the bird shot.
 
What these guys said, if its cheap ammo u want to use, try the fedral works better then winchester.

Fyi we make longer mag tubes for your 930 ;)

I was using the federal stuff, I just took it apart to give it a cleaning and noticed this wear on the mag tube, its where the red gas spring is on the barrel. Is this normal wear?

My 870 would FTE almost every time when it was brand new using the cheap shells... After a few hundred Federal through it it loosend up nicely, and now fires everything I feed it. Use some higher grade ammo for the first bit then try the cheapo ones again later. Might work!

Yes, go shoot 15-20 3" magnum slugs. That should loosen it up nicely.

I used to use Winchester #4 shot you can get from Wally mart. Recently, I got a decent deal on Federal 7.5 field and range. It's got a little more kick to it, but it works so much better.

As to your ability to only put 4 2 3/4" shells in the tube, clean it out. The follower might be catching on a bunch of factory goop.

You might want to mosey on over to the S&J website and grab a host of stuff there too :)
 
I cleaned out the mag tube already so i dunno, ya i think i'm going to keep it pretty simple with just maybe a ext mag and a side saddle and sling. Any slings you guys recommend? This is going to be a bush gun.
 
I know the factory followers are kinda crappy. I would hazard a guess that yours is "not round" and is binding up somewhere in the mag tube.

The three worse things on the stock 930s are the safety, the bolt handle and the follower in no particular order. Easy and simple fixes to make a good gun great.

Personally, I run a simple two point for everything. (adjustable made by 5.11) simple and easy to use.
