Anyone loading 75gr. Hornady AMAX to fit AR mags with success?

Today I loaded up 5 .223 Rem cases with 24.gr of Varget and 75gr. Hornady AMAX bullets. I loaded them to fit in the mag of my Benelli MR1 ... 2.25" OAL. The MR1 mag is interchangeable with AR mags. The problem: it is such a long skinny bullet that to fit the OAL it crushed the powder and sat awkwardly inside the case, you could literally see a small gap around the neck of the case and the bullet. When I shot them they never hit the paper target at 100m and I'm assuming it's a result of the huge jump they would have to make to the lands. I loaded the rest of the 45 cases that I had prepared with 55gr. VMAX bullets. They didn't group well either but at least they were on the paper.

Any solutions for the 75gr. AMAX problem?
 
I haven't loaded 75g AMAX bullets, but last time I loaded a u-haul truck I found the best method was to have the girlfriend/wife in the back arranging stuff while the guys did the lifting.

Use tangent ogive Sierra 69gr MatchKing instead

Binelli MR-1 has a 1-9" barrel twist, Hornady 75gr A-Max require 1-8" barrel twist to stabilize (it's printed on the box).
A note on Hornady bullets: most are secant ogvive and are extremely sensitive to seating depth while most Sierra and all Nosler bullets are tangent ogive and are not seating senstive.

Give yourself a break and use Sierra MatchKing 69gr which are the standard match bullet for 1-9" barrel (Nolser Custom Competition 69gr and Berger Match BoatTail 73gr also work well easily).

My best groups with the MR-1 are with 77 gr Scenars Lapua, in the AR mag my OAL is 2.270 and barely powder crushing with 23.4 gr of Varget... Cheers. JP.
 
The Sierra 77gr Match King is designed to seat in the case at a length which will fit the AR magazine. It has an advantages over the 69SMK at longer ranges.
 
I have loaded tonnes of them over BLC2 and never had a problem. I load them to max length for the AR15 mag and then apply a good crimp which is necessary. I think they sit better over ball powder too. Accuracy is good at 100 meters, but not as good as other bullets, such as one of the 69 grain match bullets (which I am using WC735 for).
 
Use the proper Sierra, Berger's as noted above or the Hornady 75gr. HPBT - those too are designed to seat properly in the neck when OAL is set at ~2.250".
 
The A-Max's will not fit in AR mag. I have been using the Horndady 75gr BTHP in a 20" 1:8 twist heavy barrel and getting half inch groups at 100m with benchmark loads to 23grains. Attempts with H322 and H335 did not come anywhere close. I think the 1:9 barrels may work with the 75gr. You have to test it out. I have heard some say it works fine, others that it is unstable in flight.
