Has anyone tried a vortex strikefire on a cz 858 with the lowest ring and nea upper handguard? is it able to get a tiny bit of co witness with the iron sights? i looked at the pics of it and I believe its really damn close the ring allows for 21 mm from top of base (rail?) to the center of ring .. center of optic. I don't care if it gets center of optic but if I can get anything even at bottom of optic I'm fine with that for now. so if anyone has tried it let me know it would be much appreciated.
I already own the strikefire and am considering buying the nea handguard and lowest ring for the strikefire. or if anyone has an nea upper handguard what is the measurement from top of rail to the top of piston block?

thats what im running right now, i can see my irons through the scope just fine, though they don't line up with the strikfire's red dot.

cool could you post a pic? I have been waiting for a change with this rifle had started with fab defense and i knew it would not be good but i tried it anyway. want this gun to be accurate as it can. so you have the low ring for the vortex strikefire and the nea upper hand guard and you can see the irons through the scope. that is awesome just what was hoping for.

glad to help, i'll try and take a pic for yah today.

here you go... the irons are pretty well lined up, as you can see they just clear the bottom, i shifted the rear iron to its lowest setting as well. sorry forgot to turn on the red dot, but it shows up well above the irons...

Perfect! thank you very much Sir now i am going to buy the rail and ring for sure. not available local so i have to go online shopping.

Now I wish I had gotten the NEA upper handguard instead of the BC Tactical one. My irons don't come close to co-witnessing with my Strikefire or my Sparc. Really solid mount though.

How solid is that handguard?
I just got a CZ 858 and the stock handguard wobbles. It doesn't affect the gun's operation, but I would not mount a sight on it!
Not to steal your thread, but this is a great little gun that fits me perfectly out of the box. I may have to sell off the SKS and 7.62x39 AIA !

how much was the bc tactical upper? i got the nea foregrip set for 170 + tax and $15 shipping. co witness isn't all im after nice to get the optic low to the barrel. you get a flatter plain of view i had the fab defense set on there ( still do) till my nea arrives and i had gotten the strikefire with the high optic riser ring for ar's because thats all they had left in stock.... so anyways this setup looks awesome to me and i can't wait. would love to paint it all in the same flat black when its done. i hear polyurethane paints work well. im going to investigate that. i also want to do the paracord wrap of the factory folder stock that looks bad ass to me. plus then you have a good few feet of paracord available in emergency. i thought about a braided paracord sling that could have 20 feet of cord maybe. steering my own thread off topic lol...

it is one piece of solid aluminum vs a metal and wood combo i would think it is very solid.

I believe it was $200 plus shipping but I might be mistaken, it could have been $220. I do like the look of the BC Tactical one on mine a lot better than NEA one but having a low sight might have been worth the slight loss of "cool factor".

My Strikefire had to be sent back to Vortex for repairs so the gun has a Sparc on it now. I like the Sparc even better I think. I get my Vortex sights at the strangest place, a little pond and aquarium variety shop called Nature's Corner Store here in Edmonton. It does not seem like a place you would find optical gunsights but she stocks a full line of Vortex and now Nikon optics.

what butt stock is that?

That is a Fab Defense Tactical Folder with adjustable cheekpiece from Wolverine Supplies. I really wanted an Ace folder but I couldn't find one and this was much cheaper at $144 with folding adapter included. This one has several neat features such as a plastic cheek piece that doesn't feel too cold on your face in the winter that you can adjust for the height of the optic. I would imagine if you had a scope on a side cantilever mount that would be even more handy. I just click it up one notch for my Sparc on the BC Tactical rail. The built in butt pad is nice and the stock is very solid when folded open, it has no play in it at all. It doesn't lock closed too well though. If you sling the rifle with the stock folded the sling will pull it open but thats no big deal. Also comes in tan or green.

i bet a tactical single point sling would fix that i want to get me one and i am happy with the cz factory stock folder but i need to beef it up with some paracord whipping make it more comfortable to the cheek.
