Hey all I am looking for an overall bullet/case length for the winchester hollow based full wadcutters (148 gr but actually scale out to 150.1). A friend of mine gave me a bag of them cause he doesn't use them so I was wondering about the overall length after seating...

Thanks I was thinking the same thing but I have some older full wadcutters that actually have a crimping groove in them...

Both of those bullets are full wadcutters just different designs. Load them both till the shoulders are flush with the case with just a very slight crimp. Both will leave a nice, crisp hole in the target.

I have had best experience with these in .38 Special brass, not in .357. If you run them higher than about 800-900 FPS you will experience leading very early on (depending on your barrel). Running them out over 1000 FPS will probably result in crappy accuracy.

It is far easier to get good consistent results, both velocity and accuracy (surprise - they seem to be related) at around 700 FPS and this is far more easily achievable in the Special case.

If you insist on using Magnum cases I'd suggest you give Trailboss a try...
