It's been a long time coming, but it's finally done.

Modifications include the peep sights (which are reviewed in depth in the video) and a trigger job (which is not). The trigger, I estimate, is close to 2 lbs and breaks like a glass rod with virtually no pre or post travel.

Overall, it's great rifle and I highly recommend it.

Mad props to Gordon at Blue Mountain Sports here in NB for cutting the dovetail into the receiver. Fantastic job!

How much was the peep and was it easy to order? Same question for the front ramp setup...
Thanks for the updated review!

The rear peep sight was ordered directly from Savage and I| think it was $15.

The ramp was ordered from Williams and was around $20.

The front sight itself was from my 10/22 (I installed a taller front sight when I put the NECG peep on it) and the little doo-hicky thing that I screwed the ramp into was from a Cooey 75 that I used to have.

The doo-hicky thing can't be worth more than $5 and a similar front sight can be had from Williams for under $20.

That was a great review.
It's nice to see a mod that isn't expensive to do yet makes a big difference in the rifles usefulness and capabilities.

On a side note ,where did you get the swing plate target and who makes it?

Tech sights are available for these rifles but I really don't like the look of them.

I put a cheap holosight on mine. At 15 yards I am sub 1". I could not work at 25 as the lighting was bad that day.

I put a discontinued Mueller red dot on my 305f(the .22mag version)
Was making groups around 1" at about 50yrds.
Took out a fox @ ~50yrds.

Dandy gun. They should of came from factory with a peep sight like matt put on.
I bought it and the red dot to deal with any yard pests like the above fox.
I like foxes, but protecting the chickens are a bigger priority.

Should be some rear peep sight that you can install in the scope base holes.
The m1 carbine sling seems like it'd match the rifle nicely.
