So the debate about PCC aside,

have the Jr carbines, kriss and sub 2k lived up to the hype they received?

anyone handled one or the other or all three and found one they prefer?
the odd thread pops up about the kriss (and jamming!)

how are the jr carbines? jam-o-matics? great? haven't heard much about them
 
I love the Sub-2000...:redface:...smooth function with no breaking/jams to-date :) , fun to take to indoor ranges !....:D....

It's a great little carbine.....:cool:....if the goal is simply to use pistol-mags and put 9mm rounds on target, it's money well-spent !
 
I'm looking at a Baretta CX4 Storm now and dollar for dollar in terms of value, I think it's as good if not better than its competitors.

I like the concept of the JR Carbine - especially being non-restricted, however, there's just something about it that doesn't do it for me. I hope it has a better build quality than its appearance would lead one to believe. Man, it sure is crude looking.
 
I have the Storm in .40cal and love it, it shoots out to 200m reliably and accurately. I will be getting the sub 2000 in 9mm as a discreet gun to take to the cabin and elsewhere, the Storm with the NR barrel is a bit on the big side.
 
My JR is fun but not the most reliable. The more rounds I put through it the better it gets, which leads me to believe there is an unspoken break-in period the gun requires. Very accurate and pleasant to shoot and robustly built.

As I've stated before my only complaint is the takedown procedure which requires specialized tools to do it right (AR buttstock wrench, Allen keys, FF forend wrench). I have begun putting more torque on the screws during reassembly and after a few dozen rounds yesterday only the bolt handle screw came loose. Since you can't Loctite it I'll throw a split or castle washer in there and see if that stops it from unscrewing when I fire.

Aside from that it's a nice, pleasant, accurate rifle that costs less than half the plastic fantastic Kriss, and is a lot cheaper to feed (in 9mm anyhow).
 
How are the Gen2 JR's for FTE FTF etc....

Have they fixed the problems yet or are they still jam o matics.

I will buy one when they work the bugs out.

I can say the same about mine, including the fact that using it at a pistol range should be considered cheating. :)

I've fed mine cold-loaded handload rounds, factory rounds, heavy grain HP handloads, etc. and it eats them all no problem.
 
I like my s2k, nice and compact. folded it fits neatly in a regular small bookbag. Been 100% after i stopped using the supplied glock magazine and switched to the KCI mags.

It makes a wierd sound when firing the 45 ACP round out of such a long barrel. Stupid easly to dis-assemble and besides the poor rail machining marks and the fact that the rail mounted on the side of the charging handel is pointless. This thing rocks your socks off! Light year's ahead of anything else un the SMG market. Now if it was only in 9mm then it would be a true winner.

+2 on all of the above except the 9mm, it would be like shoot air-soft if it was 9mm! Plus the big holes make it extra fun.

I ran close to 400 rounds through of mostly 185 and 230 grain hand-loads and it functioned without a hiccup... Only complaints so far is the front sight came loose (which didn't matter as I have a red-dot on it) and I have to reload a whole bunch more 45! ;)
 
My KRISS needs to be run with hot ammo, it will not cycle anything even remotely close to light loads.

Ergonomics are good, handling is decent, not as good as some of the other smaller carbines, as there is a bit more weight, and the long barrel/ barrel shroud combo makes the front end a little slower to track on target, but that is the price of having it NR.

I am really enjoying the little thing though. Muzzle climb is non existant, the engineers knew what they were doing.

All said and done, I buy lots of guns, and if a gun does not 'work' for me, then it does not stay long in my safes.

The KRISS is one of the ones that will be staying.

huh, never should have posted about the kriss, you guys are supposed to be talking me out of it. haha.
i like the sub 2k price and the folding, but dislike the 9mm..
i like the jr, but dislike the take down and lack of folding.
i like the kriss because it's unique, simple, .45, but dislike the price.

looks like the kriss is for me.
 
I just picked up a jr in 9mm and the gf has had her sub2k for a year now. The sub feels cheep. I dont like the fisher price feel, folding is cool, but its all plastic, ya never know when you might just NEED to depend on it. your also stuck with the sights that come with the rifle. They work, but im not a fan of them. I know somone will read this and say you can put on the quad rail forend, but that defeats the novelty of folding. I've looked into the keltec rotating optic mount and it does not seam overly solid.

the good, well, it goes bang every time, even when its dirty. She also doesnt care what you feed it, it will eat anything. Its also light, and fairly accurate. The folding feture is nice, the gf finds it easy to pack around in her truck and on camping trips. Shes a small person and it fits her like a glove.

now for the jr. Well I think its WAY better then the s2k in build quality. Fit and finish are good. its got some weight to it which is nice, makes it feel more like a firearm, not a toy. I had some FTF's at first when runing 147g ae bulk ammo. I| ran three box's of +p through it and now it is working fine. It does seam to "kick" more then the s2k, might just be me tho. you can also mount any type of sighting kit you would like.

what I didnt like. For the price of the thing, and it being a second "generation" it should just work right out of the box. Also, for that price, why the eff didnt they include a set of sights?

all in all I think the Jr carbine is worth the investment.
