Which NEA ar15 should I buy?

LOL...your post said a thousand words......

Look. Let me be as clear and as plain as I can be. There is NO business relationship between me and NEA other than I came to an arrangement with the owner some time ago to allow them to produce one of my designs. That's it.

I receive NO money from NEA nor any company associated with NEA. I don't even own an NEA AR15, though I have shot them and have used some of their parts in my personal builds and some builds done for others.

The NEA products I've used were NOT provided for free or anything like that. In some cases I paid cash, in one other case I traded the owner something for a part.

Unlike many on this forum who trash competitors under anonymous internet aliases, I am very up front about what my relationships are with ANY manufacturer whose products I review or feature in a documented build.

I know you cannot say the same at this point ;)

Now how about you go back to building competing VZ products and let people with valid input talk about AR15 stuff...

Except you can't offer any kind of reasoned argument except that you hate the NEA guys. Everyone now knows that you hate them so why not take the opportunity to STFU about it so the adults can discuss the pros and cons in a reasonable manner?

Laugh2

OK....I can be anyone or anything you what me to be and I promise I will love you a long time....LOL. Keep posting and keep digging that hole a little deeper every time. I agree lets get back to the AR topic since that is your expertise this month.

since that is your expertise this month.

1) please use a normal font. fancy fonts are harder to read.

2) I don't care what you think my "expertise" is. If you must know, I'm a mechanical engineer and I work in materials science. I don't manufacture firearms for a living and I don't play a manufacturer on TV either - never claimed to.

Given that I've been very forthright with my connections to manufactures (or more appropriately the lack thereof) and my background, why don't you come clean on who and what you are so that we can place weight or emphasis on what you have to say about a gun you have never shot or owned? I doubt you've ever owned a Stag AR either.

Or is it only me who is expected to be accommodating with nothing in return?

IBTL.

I've never seen an NEA product except on this forum. But I can state with confidence that I'd purchase their products if and when I'm in the market for something they make. But there are several individual in this thread that I would never deal with as they have no class at all.

If all you can bring to a discussion is sour grapes, better to go drink it alone like the loser you are.

You do not have to post your credentials, the Internet is a wonderful thing, they are already out there. You seem to be more interested in me and my suspected affiliation with B.C Tactical. I am just a semi retired young fart that has no connection with anybody. So keep digging that hole and lets get back on the AR topic.....

Claven2, don't waste your time on people like this. Your input is appreciated. Please do not get drawn in by these Internet know it all types.

I think I might buy an NEA soon. Just so I can post an opinion. I don't like the way this is all being handled but I won't say anything without knowing what the product is like.

I'm not flogging any credentials, but you accused me of representing myself as an "expert in ARs this month", which I never claimed to be. I give up. NEA sucks. There, happy? Your ##### is probably bigger too

To the OP:

I think you can't go wrong with ANY AR presently available at retail in Canada which is not made by Norinco, and in some cases, Dlask. Some people OBVIOUSLY feel differently and you should take their opinions into account too.

I'm just one guy on the internet.

It's ridiculous that NEA can no longer come up in conversation without causing a mass Tourette's outbreak around here.

Stag builds a decent rifle. I would put them roughly on par with each other.

NEA has had a few hiccups on the way to getting their rifles out. They seem to have sorted out anyone who has had problems immediately.

If the prices were identical I don't think I would have a strong preference between the two.

I actually REALLY like the Stag product. I've owned one of their M4 clones and I use Stag bolts and buffer tubes in all my builds. Walter at Armseast has always been FANTASTIC to deal with and the (VERY FEW) times I ever had an issue with one of their products, they had a replacement to me in the mail within a couple hours of my phone call.

Others may disagree, but I don't see what LMT offers over and above the Stag for the additional cost of the LMT. (I really like LMT as well, but not when I can get a Stag for so much less). The things that are different (like HPT bolt) make ZERO difference for civilian users.

Edit: You can get an LMT "Export Model" without threaded muzzle and non-adjustable stock for about $1250 which is also a smoking deal, but not if you add in the cost of muzzle threading and new collapsible stock. The best Stag buy (in my view) is the 2R Carbine for $1285. See here: http://www.armseast.com/store/right_hand_rifles/stag_arms_2r_le_16_cdn_le_carbine/

If you decide to go Stag, buy with confidence IMHO.

So, which NEA do I buy? they make many models

why choose 10 inch, 14 inch, etc ?

what sights do I put on it? (I dont really want a scope on it, it would be for 100 yards or less)

what about stag arms vs NEA

Thanks

If you are in the market for an AR it does not matter what you get. They are all clones of a proven design that each manufacture puts their own twist on. If you like specific options then order your rifle with them. If you like the classic M4 then do not count out the Norinco M4's. There are alot of them out there with high round counts and still going strong. There is alot of hype out there on what you should get and what you should not. Take everything with a grain of salt........

They have a pretty bad ass stock coming out for their 7.5 incher in..January I think. Put a can type muzzle device on it and you got a freakin sweet toy. For under 100 yards they should all perform pretty much the same. get whatever you think looks the coolest.

I got my NEA 15 14.5 for xmas. It doesn't have a single shot without a malfunction (look at pictures). Slide catch is a very loose fit in the receiver. The main problem is the chamber being machined wrongly
creating rings on spent brass witch creates more surface area and stops the round from ejecting (ruining the brass). While this problem would
probably be fixed with a new barrel the other problems make me worried that I will encounter more malfunctions including, but not limited to,
the slide catch to be worn down to breaking point and plain FTFs. I'm thinking I will just return the rifle and get a core 15. Do you guys test fire your
rifles before you ship them out?
