My 1st ever AR build (Completed April 20th )

Brownells has peels for sure, just got some there last month. Your crush is on backwards, which might be what is tripping you up. You REALLY have to come onto them to get them to deform properly. Barrel blocks are basically a must.

Rule of thumb with crush washers, big end towards big surface. If your brake. OD is larger (95% are) than the barrer it goes forward, if its smaller go backwards. Crush washers for the large part are good only for one install. I keep my used ones for personal builds and sometimes I get to reuse one down the road if I'm lucky. That being said I'll take a new crush washer over fiddling with a peel washer any day. Many dealers sell them new, try dlask.

Thanks for helping the newb once again... Gave Fabsport a call this morning and got 4 more of them on the way... Hes close to me so I should get them fast...

Yup I have a block for the vice. and will flip the crush washer around...

thanks guys for the tips...

hey Dilligaf.. great build... i'm also building one, and i also bought the YHM handguard, they look great. how long is yours... ?? i got the specter(9.6") length and i'll be running a 14.5 barrel, so i'm debating if i should get the 12" handguard instead.

I got the 9.2... I should of got the 9.6 so The endcap would of fit...

I dont like the barrel sticking out so I would go with the 12 inch...

Well I got everything ready for the range tomorow... Cant wait to try out my new riffle...

So the only thing im worried about is stopages with the first few shots... Is this common on new riffle built with different parts >?

I just built my first at Christmas with a real hodgepodge of parts and had no stoppages so far in the first 100 that I have fired. (all I have been able to get to the range for:()

There was a bit of smoke from putting on way too much mobil1  but after that no problems.
