In your situation I would not bother with the higher end target loads. I would buy, in my order of preference, Remington Gun Clubs, Federal Top Guns, or Winchester Super Targets. You can find them in 100 packs at Walmart or Canadian Tire. If you are going to shoot a little more than that consider a "flat" of 250 rounds from a larger sporting goods store. These are all steel headed shells that will work fine in most guns, but there have been reports with empty hulls sticking in newer Remington 870 Expresses. Look for shot sizes 7-1/2 or 8. There is no need for 1200 fps loads in 1-1/8 (so called 3 dram)for casual shooting. Look for 1145 fps in 1-1/8(so called 2-3/4 dram). If you can find a 1 ounce load at 1200 fps they are great target loads and a lot easier on your shoulder.
