Mauser 1908 (Itajuba,Brazil) Mq .30 M954 30.06

I haven't finalized the deal on the full wood P-14 yet so it isn't in the family photo!
Can anyone tell me with the info provided which factory the P-14 was made?

Nice family you have there :D.

Your P14 in the photo was made by Eddystone, a sub factory set up by Remington to produce the P14 and later, the P17.

Thanks Nabs! They may be old girls but I still think they are ###y! I think it would be cool to try shooting the Lebel but ammo is realy hard to come by. As a matter of fact I have never found any. When you put that cruciform bayonette on the thing is darn right scary. Sh!t I sounded Liberal just now. scrap the scary replace with breath taking!

When i fix my S.98 bayonet onto my Gewehr 98 it is as tall as I am and I'm 6"2' !

Knowing how tell the average soldier was in WW1, that is one heck of a boom stick :D.

I have an ERA P14 that looks almost exactly like yours.
The ejector spring has a tendency to break, is yours still intact?

I love family pictures. I'd like to see a close up of the pistol grip on the SKS d. It almost looks like there is metal in the middle of the grip.
Happy New Year.

It does have metal in it. I refer to it as a bastardized SKS because the previous owner welded lips on the mag well and a plate on the trigger guard. He extended the mag release and put the wood on the plate. Pm me your e-mail address and I'll send you pics. The camera has 375 pics on it and it'll take a while to load them on the computer. I can take phone pics and send them to my hotmail quicker.

P.-'14 and M-1917 (basicaly the same rifle, just different calibres) were built in three factories (apart from the super-arly .276 model bult at Enfield. These are:
Winchester Repeating Arms: rifles marked WRA or W
Remington Arms at Ilion: RIA, R
Eddystone, Pennsylvania: ERA, E, the ERA standing for Eddystone Remington Arsenal.

As far as ejector springs are concered, these are a splinter off the side of the ejector itself. There are none avalable anywhere unless you have too much money. You can do a repair by yourself by removing the ejcto from the ejector box/bolt stop of the rifle, cleaning everything up very well and then epoxying about a third of the spring from a retractable ballpoint pen (available free from your local bank if they aren't watching) to the left (outer) side of the ejector. This spring then will bear directly against the ejector box and thrust the ejector blade against the bolt as the bolt is withdrawn. Result: ejection. I have 2 rifles here that I did this repair on 33 years ago and they are still working fine. Cost? A whole penny's worh of Acra-Glas and an hour of my very valuable time.

Hope this helps.

That Lebel looks tasty :) especially with Rosalie next to it :D

All complete and in working order? How does it shoot?
All complete and in working order! Never had ammo for it so I have no idea how it shoots.
A short story for you...
This Lebel was my dad's, it used to hang on the wall above the livingroom window. (It was a different time, don't do it today) Anyway, he was out hunting one day and met up with a couple hunters. They visited and joked for a few hrs, the topic migrated towards wine. My dad said," I work at a winery, stop by my house and I'll give you a few bottles!" The next day a police car shows up and 2 cops step out of the car and walk to the door. It turns out the hunters were cops. Dad let them in, mom gave them a cup of coffee. They came to pick up their wine. While in the house one of the guys spotted the Lebel on the wall and asked if he could look at it. Dad takes it off the wall and hands it to him. He marvels at it and the attached bayonette and lifts it to read the markings on the action...promptly spearing the crusiform bayonette into the ceiling!! was he ever embarressed!

Nice milsurps. I have a soft spot for P-14's. I have had full wood in the past but regretfully they are gone. I do have 2 that have been sporterized. One was done by BSA and the other looks like it has been done by someone who is far more talented than bubba.....Both shoot cast bulllets like a dream. Both are ERA's.

Cheers, Steve,
