Pics of my old girls

Hey I just wanted to know how that m954 in .30-06 fires? I am picking one up and I have been reading some stuff on how low serial #'s have brittle receivers.

I haave chucked everything I have had on hand thru it and it has had no problems at all. About 2 weeks ago I brought it to the range with 10 stripper clips full of 165 gr btsp pushed by IMR 4320 powder. (old hunting load,I prefer a different powder so these have just been sitting in my ammo locker for 2 years.) I went to the 50 y range and tried to do some fast shooting. I set up 4 targets, 2 at the 25 and 2 at the 50. Bang off 5 rounds random pick of targets, action opened slide in the stripper clip and shove the ammo into the internal mag and start shooting again.
I have to tell you ,I think I punished myself far more than the gun! Maybe I am getting soft in my old age but I don't remember the steel butt plate hurting so much. I used to shoot the .303 Brit in just a T-shirt and we used to put more rounds than I can count thru the old FNC1 with just a combat shirt on. Next time I will bring an old slip on butt pad with me.

I went out to the gun locker to look at the ser# after reading this. I remember hearing something about this years ago. My ser# is 2333* and I never noticed before but the bolt is ser# 2333*( different last number)
Any idea how low of ser# they are talking?

Well I received my m954 and I am going to my range tonight to test it, I have Winchester 180 grain commercial soft point super x about 40 rounds and i plan to do around 10. My ser# is 2238* and i have tried to find information on the numbers they were talking about but I have found nothing. This leads me to believe is pardon my language but a bull#### rumor.
