Who's idea was it? IPSC Ontario Match Results

Thank you! I thought I was the only one. I just got finished talking to JOJOPINTO about this.

BTW, just about beat you at the last match.

So this begs the question....if I get banned from the ipsc ontario forum, (which seems more likely than not) I will not be able to get results???? What if I dont want to be a member of ipsc ontario forums anymore.....and what is the point of issuing a new password for the "sensitive areas" and not using it.

And btw Onagoth....I tanked the one stage just to make you feel better.....just saying....

Stage 2 went out the window for me the second I fired the first shot...Oh well, still fun though.

I'm kinda wondering about the signup too...Previously I wasn't a member of the forum and had no interest in it. Yet I could still get match results no problem.

Why do we now have to have a different password to access the match results. Now ipsc ontario members have to join the ipsc ontario forum to get results

Yip that is as long as you get acces I have tried for sometime last year but its like dealing with the government bureaucrats very frustrating so I gave up :p:p:p:pV:I:

The password and username change every year to prevent non-paying members from entering the site as it is for current paid up members only. Seeing as full names appear on the results pages it is also a security measure in a attempt to prevent people who have no business being there finding out you may have firearms at home.

I would assume that IPSC Ontario is using the same base application and data source for several functions (classifications, access to the forums, now match results)

From a data management perspective...it makes sense.

Ummmm....I am a paid up member of IPSC Ontario...I have the new IPSC Ontario password.....it does not work to get results.....I now have to use the IPSC Ontario forum PASSWORD to get results ......why?????

I dunno, they are the same aren't they. I haven't updated any of mine and I have mine info saved for these sites so I don't have to enter it in all the time. I don't even remember what the new password and username is.

you missed the point.

The new password and user name were mailed out with renewals.

However..............they do not work

Nor does the one from last year.

That said..........it does work if you use your log in data from the "OFFICIAL IPSC ONTARIO FORUM".

Now that does beg the question (which I think was 7.62s point) how would one know that info?
Well other than reading it here I would guess. Which if you have kept track of the whole "CGN is not a place to discuss IPSC issues" is a tad ironic.

I guess it is one way to drive up membership at the "official" forum.........but it is a tad disconcerting in terms of application from a member relation POV (YMMV)

Perhaps an email from the BOD announcing this change is in the works.

...because it states it very clearly on the log in screen for the match results

Another ESSA ##### session. What a shock

Pssst.............that is a new edit my good man.
Do try to at least keep up.

Nice try though.

It also does not answer the question.........

WHY.........

So the question still stands.

That said I do like the new look to the results page.............it is very readable and provides quick access to the results and is a definte improment over the old look.

pssst....it was there when I logged in late December...before the password changed.

I never believed in natural selection before I met the EESA crowd...

You're the little club that always cries wolf. It's pathetic.

wow....i'be never quite seen anyone broad stroke 600 shooting enthusiasts like that before

I am curious....is that everyone that belongs to EESA....or would you like to narrow it down a little?

Good point...

Not all members...

I'm sure no ones cares...but I'm to the point that I'm so disgusted by the actions and attitudes of most of the people running your IPSC matches that I don't think I could b ring myself to ever attend another one (unless god forbid ESSA hosts the Prov or Nationals)

If all of our members had the attitude that the ESSA IPSC members have shown towards the BOD...we would have no volunteers.

...and before you just dismiss my comments...remember how much support I gave to ESSA during my time as IPSC Ontario President.

Perhaps we were entering from different areas. Oh and the password did not change as per the the renewal letterl. Which is the original question..

It still however does not answer the "why" either now does it.

Oh and as for EESA being wolves? Perhaps we are the only club that cares? Which explains perhaps why you came to US when you could not find a club to host your provincials in 2008.

SUPORT! My god man! you came to ME asking if we could host it as no other clubs wanted it .........in APRIL! for chirst sakes.

The only support that I asked for was for you to take on the sponsorships............and you totally f'd that up! I never #####ed about it at the time but it was a huge disappointment. But if you are going to start attacking EESA then I guess it is ok

Now as to Attitude towards the BOD...........
I do not care for the direction that BOD is currently going in. That does not mean that I do not care for them as individuals. If I do not agree with something I tend to voice that opinion (as do you it would appear. That is how it should be. I think that they all care. I think that they are all doing what they think is best for IPSC Ontario..............I also firmly believe that they are WRONG in some of what they do. Not all but some............. and those points I will address as they come up.

Good point...

Well...if I didn't care...I wouldn't be posting on such topics as these would I?

As far as you coming to our matches anymore, well I feel that is a shame, for you to have those feelings, due to some like minded individuals feeling strongly about certain issues. Wanting the best for our club, wanting the best for the organizations that we belong to. We will get along fine without you!

One thing I will say, and that I have strong convictions towards....is that discontent in an organization almost always comes from the top and works its way down....I hope the IPSC Organization as a whole can see that and work towards a solution......

We certainly see a lot more people participating in IDPA at EESA than in IPSC......I wonder why that is?
