I was inspecting a couple a rarely used pistols when my m213 gave up a part. On the slide, there is an insert that slides in, and is held with what I assume is a pin.

Can someone have a look, and tell me exactly how this bit is held in? The retainer pin (I assume) is missing, and I need a look at someone's pin, so I can fabricate my own. The tt33 and np17 lack this part, oddly enough, so the breakdown of parts avialable everywhere doesn't help.

Sorry for the crappy pics.

It's likely different from those other guns due to the M213 being a 9mm chambering.

Any tight fitting pin will work. I'd suggest you try a few different size nails at the local Rona to see if you can find one which is a snug fit or which would only need a slight amount of filing down with the nail running in a hand drill as a "lathe".

Once it fits snugly then mash it to an oval shape over some small portion of the length with a hammer so it force fits into the hole and stays in place.

That's basically what I had in mind, just was hoping to see a complete one. Funny thing, the np-17 is a 9mm tok, with safety, esentially the same gun, but it's slide is solid, no insert. Weird. The m213 must be a tt33 with a few extra parts to make 9mm reliable, whereas the np17 is a "new" build.

Same thing happened to mine, replaced pin and gave it a good smack to swage it and keep it in place.
Have been through around 4500 rounds now and still won't die! Funny thing is that the gun still worked without the piece!
For a crude beast of a gun, it just keeps going and going!
