Yay Or Nay On This Sage EBR M14?

So my next rifle I wanted a socomII, but after seeing some of the pics of EBR stocked m14s I decided thats what I want instead. It seems like they are hard to get and can take up to 90days or longer... but i found one on gun broker and I need the M14 experts opinions. Ignore the scope because im going to either do a eotech with fts magnifier or some alternative scope.

Since ive never bought a gun online I went to my local shop to talk about how the process works for buying a gun online.... they informed me that they have a Remington MSR XM2010 coming as store stock and said they thought about me when they ordered it..... quite the gamble as it costs 17,500... but they said they'd let me make payments so i said im very interested! LOL

I would try and buy just the stock, it's an older full length EBR.
It will have a 6 screw top rail for standard weight barrels.
You can pick up a rifle and install it later.
 
Thinking about this a little more... is there any other negatives in regards to this gun in particular? I like the fact that I could have it very soon, but i dont want to buy it and have issues associated with it.
 
My friend receive $22K in royalties every year from Remington for that rifle! Plus he supplies the mags!:dancingbanana:

Effectively. And longer because these early ones covered the gas piston area. The newer ones cover only the oprod. They're lighter by being shorter but I think they removed extra material as well. Finally the older Sage stock had this kind of rubber grip instead of the new Ergo.

You may want to request many pictures to identify which parts are USGI and which are worn. There's a lot of informations not advertised.

A used rifle that he never shot could mean a rifle with malfunctions that he prefer to ignore. If you're in the US you can access the SAI warranty easily but you won't save time in the end.

Im not 100% sure what the story is with the gun, but he said and I quote....

I loaned it to one of my SIM instructors while deployed last year (may have the target shot with iron sights). He shot it before scope was mounted.

So it sounds like its been shot, just not by him. He reduced his price to 2200, shipping is 30 and my ffl says its a transfer fee of 30. So 2260 out the door... im tempted.

It's one of the last pre 'chop mod' chassis produced, it was made very late in 2004 right before the front of the EBR chassis was shortened from 13.0" to 11.25"
