Savage FCP HS Precision 338 under centerfire/law enforcement.

Probably buying the 300 win mag version of that same rifle as soon as it comes out. I cant really figure why I would need a 338 over 300 win mag. way too expensive if you dont reload, and even if you reload, costs more powder, and no cheap bullets like they do for the 30 cal.

I was gonna order from Juan but there was only a 50$ difference and I didn't have to wait or pay shipping so I didn't care if it was only 50 $ difference. Gotta find a scope for it I prob won't get out till spring.

bought one my self, like it alot but after 2 boxes of the hornady 258 match, cases are getting stuck in chamber and i just herd back from the store i picked it up at, the other rifle that came in with mine is having the same problem.

there is a noticable ring around the primer on the spent case. over pressure? maybe i dont know if any one has any ideas please let me know.

FYI

You need not worry about the primer flowing back around the firing pin. That just means the hole in the bolt face is a little larger then the firing pin. When you start loosing the shadowing around the edges of the primer, you're seeing pressure.
Sticking in the chamber will reflect marks on the brass if there are any imperfections from the reemer.

I've heard of this sticky brass problem on other forums and it seems to be specific with Hornady brass.

I have the Savage 111 LRH in .338LM orderd. This is the scope I am going with.

I have that same scope that was on my Remington 338 before I sold it.

Stood up to 116 rounds before selling the rifle. Keeping the scope to maybe put on a 308 to get out to 1 mile.

Hey Max, good to hear you like yours, I was a little concerned ordering it. How far out will it reach and still be accurate?

Wow, $1350 for a 338LM! I'm not sure how good this particular rifle is performance wise but that's a decent price to get started in the Lapua cartridge. At one time the Remington 338's were selling for 1200 bucks and now I see they're creeping close to $1900+....??
