Buy or Build?

I was thinking the same thing recently re: buy vs build. In the end I decided to buy. That way I get something that works right away, and it will give me the time to figure out how it works and goes together when I mess around with it.

I am pretty sure that at some point in time, I am going to build a project AR. The idea of something geared towards longer range accuracy appeals to me. I think that having some experience with C7/C8's, as well as the AR that I have bought (once it arrives) will give me alot more confidence to build a project gun.

There's nothing wrong with buying a Norinco if that is what you can afford. At the very least, with that gun you will know whether or not you actually want to spend time and money on AR's in the future with a relatively small upfront cost.

That sounds like a Norinco to me:D

M

Hmm I should add consistantly accurate to the list. lol.

I have to say that I really don't have much agaisn't norinco, their products seem to work, and from what I have seen first hand they really just suffer from fit and finish issues which may cause accuracy consistancy issues.

What did you end up buying?
I think NEA is what I am heavily leaning towards.

I hate when ppl say buy north American blah blah blah. So if the op can't afford a north American AR then what he should wait until he does? Buy whatever is in your budget and don't worry about where its made. Your buying from a canadian dealer so who cares.

Spoken like someone who's never been laid off due to asian outsourcing... ;) Once upon a time, Canada was a manufacturing powerhouse until ppl like you were born.

If you are thinking it's likely you will want to upgrade from a Norinco to something better at some point, then skip the Norinco and save the depreciation dollars. Save your pennies a bit longer and buy a nicer AR from the get-go.
