Hello,

My friend is getting very interested in guns of the Soviet Union, and is willing to go for his licence (hoorah, another young shooter)!

He wants to know what the best price is for a regular, plain shooter grade Russian SKS and M91/30.

Being a big CGN fan myself, I would love to give business to one of the supporting dealers.

He lives in Central Alberta, so shipping from Ontario, instead of B.C. is more costly :)

for the 91/30 you cant beat westrifle im not sure if theye got sks rifles as well.id almost consider one of the new chinese ones as a bit better deal.i had one and it was brand new and a bit more accurate than the others.
 
Marstar's $75 SKS with ammo purchase seems like a nice deal.

CGN's Weimajack's rifles are reasonably priced and hand picked. Not sure what he has in terms of SKS these days though.
 
I have several Mosins from Westrifle and needed some spare parts. After looking up prices I found that it was far cheaper to just buy a $100 rifle and use the parts as needed.
I was sorely dissappointed. The rifle I just received today is mint. It is one of the best I have seen. Woodwork is mint with virtually no marks and a lovely deep red colour. Bore is bright with some of the best rifling I have seen and blueing is like out of the factory. Damn
Now I have to keep this one as is and buy another for spare parts hoping it is not as good.
Where wil it end?
 
If you want to buy one for spare parts you should have asked :) Price will be the same 100 dollars

Weimajack and westrifle seem to be the cherry pickers :p

I have always got fantasic looking guns from them :)

Lucky :p

The Mosin I just got from him has an incredibly smooth and tight action and fairly nice wood, but the bore is utterly shot out; practically a smoothbore, hah.

Still, $100 cannon with a nice action, I'll be adding that one to my future wildcat experiments...

For an SKS, I will suggest you to look in the EE.
There is nice SKS there sometimes. ( Bought mine from there )
1- You save taxes if its a private seller
2- You will probably save the hassle to remove all the cosmoline.

If you want a russian, IMO 1952 and + is the wise choice cauz the barrel is chrome lined, 1951 and - aren't.
I don't know that much about the chinese SKS but I know many are imported here unfired and they are all chromelined ( read brand new )

And you can contact Majormarine , I bought my sks from him... He always have top notch rifles. He have more than 330 trader ratings in here.
