I am currently looking for a scope rail for my CG.
NEA and B&T both at $150.
Which one is better in terms of fit and quality?

Thank you for your comments.

If it were my rifle, I would go with the B&T. I have owned 5 or 6 B&T top rails over the years and they have all been great. I can't comment on the NEA top rail purely because I have not owned one.

I don't like how the NEA is steel or that it has an Aimpoint micro mount built in. I think the steel will add more weight over the aluminium B&T and the Aimpoint base is kinda gimmicky.

In the end it's your money, buy what you want.

The Swiss Arms guns are heavy to start with. Cutting weight anywhere you can is a good thing. The B&T mounts have steel pins and front wedges with alum. to save weight on the rest of the mount. The very best option in my opinion and will be straight, when mounted.

The added weight of a steel base is a non-issue. The durability of steel is worth the trade off.

As Rich said, every little bit helps with regards to weight reduction. B&T did it right and used steel where they needed to, unlike some other companies who made aluminium mounts (PRI).

As for durability, most users will likely mount the rail and it will stay mounted for a long time, so I don't see wear occurring at the mounting points (which are steel in the B&T anyway). The rest of the mount is the same as any other aluminium top rail out there. All the flat top AR's seem to be doin just fine with their aluminium top rails. ;)
