I am thinking about building a Canadian made DAR 22. What is the consensus? Are they accurate and reliable? With their receivers some come with a built in rail, I would think that would be great. Is it?Are their barrels good or better? What barrel length would you go with and why? I was thinking thier 16".I am thinking of going with a Hogue stock.

Thanks for your replys

I just got a DAR22 for Christmas with the integral rail and a 12.5" bbl. Comparing it to the Ruger isn't really fair as in my opinion the receiver is far superior to Ruger's latest offerings. It somehow feels less fragile and better finished than all of my old 10/22's. I got mine as a complete rifle but Dlask used a Ruger bolt and trigger group that have obviously been worked on as the trigger is much better than a standard 10/22. I've only put a couple of hundred rounds through it but so far function is 100% with a few different brands of ammo. No real accuracy testing done yet but it was making tiny little groups at 25 yards with a red dot on it. I have a Dlask 16.5" barrel that I will also try out and a friend just bought a KIDD stainless barrel for his so we'll eventually see which one shoots best.
The one reviewed on firearmstraining is now equipped with a KIDD single stage trigger that is simply amazing (it may be the best trigger I've ever pulled). He's been switching sighting systems on it with alarming frequency so I'm not sure where it is accuracy wise but I know the owner is very happy with the rifle.

I love mine so much, shoot out to 220m with great accuracy.

copy that link. it says everything you need to know about this rifle in a review form.

Everything Ruger makes is investment cast AFAIK.

Is the Dar 22 receiver cast or machined?

If machined that would be a very superior product indeed.

Nice concept btw...very appealing product!

Integral rail and barrel cleaning hole...excellent.

Made in Canada is icing on the cake!

It is machined, and much more robust than stock.
I haven't finished amassing all the parts for the build yet, but I do like the looks, and quality.
They put a lot of thought into this.

I bought mine as a complete rifle and am very impressed with it. Very accurate and reliable!!! I like it waaay better than my tricked out Ruger 10/22.......

Hmmmm....I like the stock on your DAR, Colin. Is it a Hogue overmold??

Dlask stuff is very nice, I just bought 2 receivers and a barrel for my builds. They had my custom spec barrel done in about a work week, great place to deal with.
