M&P 9 range kit and straight M&P 9 I thought were the same gun, just some extra goodies in the kit. According to the website they have different trigger weight. 10 lbs for the kit and 4-5 lbs on the stand alone. Can anyone please confirm?

Thar ye be, lots of fun reading (and drooling). Short answer to your question, no. Massachusetts state law requires a ten pound pull, so they do make one, but the range kit should be OK(the one I've got on hold has a 6# trigger). Just compare the SKUs.

You should look at the law! It's so a child of...five? can't pull the trigger. Ultimate nanny state, or life saving device? I don't let unsupervised children fondle my firearms, and in these days of biometric safes, and comfortable holsters, I don't understand why Americans (from Massachusetts) do.
I don't know if there's a stat on trigger jobs in Massachusetts out there, but I bet it's a good one.

Not really. Don't believe everything you read about the US being a coast-to-coast haven gor gun owners. States, countys and cities can (and do) pass their own crazy-ass restrictive gun laws... Places like Massachusetts and California have way worse laws than we do in Canada.... And the city of Chicago even has a total prohibition on the provate ownership of handguns... The grass is not always greener...
