Well Sun and Steel 77 you damn near cost me a key board, coffee everyplace. I`ll have to borrow one of those floating salvages from Sksavenger next summer when boating. I wonder if they could be classed as a personal floatation device?

Only if they're in a Coast Guard approved color :D :

It just so happens i have a salvage that belongs to Sksavenger in my basement, i wonder what he would say if it came back a bright yellow. I have some John Deere yeller spray paint that would look real purrrrty. Not sure if that is coast guard approved.:D:nest:

Before those colourfull Savages can be coast guard approved they must be equiped with a secure reliable method of a sound signal. So a plastic whistle will need to attached to each as they leave the factory. :D :D ;) Had a similar gun when I was a kid that was endorsed by Roy Rogers.

A little while ago I traded for a 84M Longmaster Classic in 223 - I've only had it out once but found that it didn't feed that great. It seems that if the cartridge is on the right side it will feed ok, but if it's on the left side not so good. Is this a common problem? Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks,
Mark

As mentioned previously in the post, check for rough feed rails.

Shimmer;
My 8400 did this exact same thing right out of the box. I called Kimber in Yonkers. They were most apologetic. They consulted with one of there gun techs while I was on the phone. They sent me a new mag spring and follower by mail N/C. I installed it and the cartridges feed perfectly now.

The feed issues are common with cartridges being picked up from the left. The way the mag spring is bent is the key to stopping the issue. The new spring is bent differently than the original. And my explisit instructions from Kimber was not to change the new shape of the spring. I haven't and it continues to work fine.

You could just sell it and buy a $600-$800 Tikka or Savage and get reliable feeding and better than MOA accuracy.;)
