Glock 19 Factory Threaded Barrel

Damn, I emailed Questar about that barrel months ago and was told, "Unavailable/No."; Oh well, paperwork changes I guess (I'd have got a Glock 19 otherwise).

I'm glad to see it is an option now, albeit a pricey one.
Nice to have an all GLOCK 19 for the non-12-* crowd.

I just got my first Glock from Wolverine, G19 with a threaded barrel, I wonder which barrel is on it. Anyone know where i can pickup a sleeve to cover the exposed threads so they don't get damaged ?

Gemtech makes thread protectors.

Wolverine has G19's?

Yah, no kidding. Sounds completely "off" to me. I have never heard of Wolverine selling GLOCK compacts, and there are no GLOCKs, compact or otherwise, being sold in Canada at this timepoint with a factory threaded barrel. I am quite certain that the barrels Questar just got are the first factory threaded barrels.

I have two GLOCK 19's and two GLOCK 23's, and I've only been tracking this issue online for... oh... about 6 years now. I think I would have seen it if somebody had them.

BTW, I bought the first G19 factory barrel yesterday. Buddyboy must have bought the other one later in the day. I ordered mine in the morning. I knew they wouldn't last the day. Hopefully Mark can get more. It will be here next week. I'll put up some pics when I get it.

Sporteque is the IGB barrel place. Other shops like Blueline have bought guns from Sporteque and resold them.

Questar is the only other place actively importing GLOCK compacts that I am aware of, and they mostly have Lone Wolf barrels. Over the years, lots of other retailers have bought these guns from Questar (wholesale) and resold them. That doesn't really seem to happen any more though.

GLOCK compacts are basically a two horse show in Canada: Sporteque and Questar.

So it actually showed as having 2 in stock? Damn, I checked and saw 0, was tempted to buy 1 just to have one for future use :)

Well, with any luck maybe Questar will get the threaded .45 barrels as well.

Yah, when Wendell posted the info, it was showing "2" in stock. I seriously considered buying both (hog), but they are pretty pricey, so I just got one to check it out for now. They obviously move very quickly, so if Mark can get more, he will no doubt bring them in.

I'm curious as to what else there is going to be "factory" from GLOCK. IGB makes a 106mm threaded barrel for the G26 which is too short for the G19 (G19 and G26 barrels are interchangeable, as are G23-G27, G17-G34, G22-G35, provided the non-threaded part of the barrel is long enough to clear the end of the slide). If GLOCK made a factory threaded barrel for the G26 that was at least 106mm, that would be awesome. I would buy it for sure. I will measure the threads on the G19 factory barrel to see if it looks like it would work. Regrettably I think it will not. The IGB G19 threaded barrel for G19 is 117mm (same length as a G17 barrel, but with threads). It doesn`t actually have to be that long though, and it looks like the factory threaded barrel is going to be shorter - somewhere in the neighborhood of about 112mm (it might say on the internet somewhere, I haven`t looked).

It is crazy that we have to go into these contortions over a few millimeters on barrels, but that`s what are laws are... and I don`t see them changing any time soon.

If they have some barrels for the GLOCK 30, 30SF and 36 (which as I understand it all take the same barrel) that would be great. Right now IGB make a 106mm for these guns, but they have been out of stock for a long time.

As for the 10mm, the .40S&W and the .357SIG guns, I don`t know if we are going to see that. Probably not. I don`t think that there is much of a suppressor market for these calibres in other countries... hence no threaded.

Got the Glock barrel today from Questar.

I recieved my barrel too. Looks good. Thanks to Questar for getting these. Hopefully they can get more, and for other models and calibres as well.

I put together some pics.

First pic looks just like Buddyboy's:

I was trying to get a picture of the markings... without much luck. On the top of the barrel, there is the "9x19" and the little pentagon symbol with a dot in the middle. Then there is the GLOCK symbol and "AT". On the side of the barrel is just a serial number, which is a 6-digit number starting with an "L" (unlike the pistols themselves which generally have 3 letters followed by 3 numbers).

Comparison with the IGB 117mm threaded barrel (GLOCK barrel is in the green GLOCK now):

I'm curious as to what this pattern on the underside of the GLOCK barrel (right, without muzzle cap) is:

Although the IGB barrel is not completely clean here, under the great scruity of flash photography the workmanship on the GLOCK barrel does look better. Total lack of tool marks. I guess that is what the big bucks can buy you in terms of manufacturing processes.
