Wanting to make a tactical shotgun with a unique twist.

I am thinking an 870 (or variant), with a 14" or 18" barrel, and a mag extension to match. Plain black but stock, with black railed fore-end. This is where the twist comes in. I found a company on this site that arma-coats receivers. And I found one color that just struck me as awesome.

guess which color....

This is a mock-up of what I am thinking. Question is, should I get the barrel done red too, or get it done black?

Opinions, questions, concerns, short stories and poems welcome.

Others may hate but I say it's your gun(s) so you can do whatever the heck you want with them (as long as it's safe and legal).

My opinion is to colour the barrel as well, I'm not digging the 2 tone look in the mockup. Honestly not really liking leaving the stock and foreend black either. Have you considered maybe doing that colour and black (and maybe another shade of red) in some sort of camo pattern and cover the entire gun?

My colors are black and red, that's why I opted to keep the furniture black (also any accessories will be black and they will have something to match).

Maybe do the barrel in red too and let the receiver and barrel have some black camo pattern done as well?

That gun was a super tight IPSIC gun and was fun to work on, the customer wanted the red/white for canada. The red we still have is bright and a nice color.The main goal was to Match the frame to the grips.

Now, how would that help my tactical pumpgun needs? The only reason I want some flare to it, is because EVERY body and their grandmother has a black shotgun.....wooo, so original and non-conformists. The red stands out nice as my gun (as myself, my brother and our buddy ALL have an 870, pretty much the same).

Not your flavor, cool, fine by me. Just looking for opinions on weather the barrel should be red or remain black for that 2-tone look?

I think your idea is good leave the barrel black, it will add a more contrast to the red.
