Remington is now loading the 9.3X62.

Remington finally caught on, about 80 years late! Nice to see them loading a classic European round though. I hope they price their product competitively, Remington has a looong ways to go to develop a quality reputation on par with the European manufacturers. They just are not in the same league as Norma, Lapua, RWS, et al.

I could care less if the 700sps dm came in 303british and stainless steel, I wouldn't buy another remington product ever. My 870 Express functions well, but whatever steel it's made out of likes to rust and there are rough sharp edges.

That's why it cost less than 350 brand new.... you get what you pay for.... I have taken care of mine and it has lasted over 18 years... and, with the addition of a new synthetic stock to make it a turkey gun it will likely last 18 more.....

And, back to topic, if they offered it up in the DM version that would be even sweeter!

Save your breath!!
It has absolutely zero effect on those who have had good success with Remington.
And those who agree with you, while in the minority, have already decided what they will do anyway.
Eagleye.

That must be an exception, my 870 is a thing of beauty ( I sleep with it ! ).
And my 700s serve me well, no issues whatsoever.
My 40X is awesome, can't measure the groups because every round goes into a teeny-weeny hole....;)

286 gr Core-Lokt at 2440 fps. BC= .400, muzzle energy 3536 ft lb, energy at 300 yd still over 2000 ft lb.

The new king has arrived! ;)

Watch for a rifle from them next.

Ted

I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I tried factory 9.3x62 ammo.....that'd almost feel like cheating.:p Looks like it holds it's energy well.

I don't know where the specs of 2440 fps came from, but from what I've seen, there's nothing extraordinary with the Remington offering!

The velocity is standard 2360 fps... not 2440 (it's the energy at 200 yrds)

Ballistics are;

B.C. .400, 286 grains Sp Core-Lokt

Muzzle 2360 fps (3536 ft-lbs)
100 yds 2155 fps (2948 ft-lbs)
200 yds 1960 fps (2440 ft-lbs)
300 yds 1777 fps (2005 ft-lbs)

http://www.remington.com/pages/news-and-resources/ballistics.aspx

But if you go in the "comparison" section, then the velocity at 400 yds is 1451 fps and suddenly, at 500 yds, they show 2360 fps... I am guessing it's when the Turbo goes "On"....

Federal also offers three 9.3X62 loads using Barnes and Swift A-Frame bullets.
