pretty sure brass is ITAR controlled. so one would have the fun of doing crap tonnes of paper work to bring some across, but as you say 1000 is a life time supply.

Contact Rusty Wood Trading Company in Mission BC Peter will supply you with an FFL dealers address in Blaine, Washington.
Find and purchase the items you are looking for have them shipped to the FFL dealer and a few weeks later Peter will ship them to you or if your close you can go pick your items up from his shop.
I'm thinking he still has new Starline 458 SOCOM brass in stock...

I have just contacted questar as they are the RRA dealer in canada and can bring in the .458 socom (in theory)
if they cant ill be contacting peter to get myself a .50 beowulf upper from alexandra arms.
now i wonder if they can supply 5 round .50 beowulf stamped mags. and if there is any special CFC type stuff that will need to be done
Not me I'd go with the far more readily available .452" 450 Bushmaster or .458" 458 SOCOM...
Having hundreds of these bullets on my shelf already for my 45 Colt/454 Casull and 45-70's that I could use could be part of the reason that I think like this...

One adavantage the 458 SOCOM is that you can use the 50AE spent cassing and size it to work on the 458 SOCOM. Now the 50 Beowulf cassings will be a chalenge to get. As you will probally want to reload for this rifle. Cause big bore in a carbine that is semi-auto you can really run threw the round count quick

Rim size – the SOCOM rim is the same as the .308 Winchester (7.62 x 51), the Beowulf rim is the same as the 7.62 x 39 M43 cartridge used in the AK-47. The B rim is easier in that you can use existing bolts for the AR. The S rim is easier in that there are hundreds of thousands of (old) bolt action rifles that use this same rim and that could be retrofitted to the SOCOM (all the old Mauser rifles ….) (from teppojutsu)

I was just looking at pics of the xcr bolt comprared to the at bolt and I must say the xcr bolt is huge, it makes a ar bolt look like a cheap toy. So unless the xcr bolt is made of pig iron I can't really see the ar bolts being that much stronger
thats what i thought but i cant seem to find a .500 rob arms barrel, and im not really sure what would be involved in making one from a blank, or if it was even possible.
i have talked with Alexander arms and they will licence the reamer to any shop that is willing to give them royalties, so if i can find a barrel manufacturer then i found my new bush gun.
.50 cal blanks are hard to come by and expensive. Last I heard, Robarm won't sell barrel components separately (gas system), just complete caliber kits. I know that Alberta Tactical built one in 6.5 Grendel, but I never did hear how it turned out.

For those interested in a larger caliber like a 450 Bushmaster/458 SOCOM/50 Beowulf on an XCR-L platform it has now been proven that the ejection port even opened to its max measurements is to small to eject these larger diameter cases.
