...and the stock on the SKS in solid hardwood is exactly the reason I'll be buying another SKS. More for it's natural beauty rather than shooting prowess. :) My CZ858 is already apart and waiting for me to find time to make new furniture for it.

Nice pair!

Careful ! You're posting red rifle #### here...wich can not be tolerated by moral and political correctnes-:D I LOVE IT...almost jealous!
Congrats to the nice pair!

I like the look of a sans bayonette sks. but i would never cut off the lug on a russian but a norinco sks i would. how long are the barrels on a norinco the ones marstar has. if it is long enough one could have a gunsmith remove the front sight block, remove the bayo lug place the front sight block in the bay lugs place trim the cleaning rod holders off the sight block and cut the barrel to the legal limit then thread the end for a cz or ak muzzle break then paint the works or parkerize. that would be a smooth looking rifle. has anybody done this?

I think it's more elegant without it. Besides, I am not going to guard Lenin's mausoleum any time soon. ;)

It looks ok in the picture, but in real life the cleaning rod falls out without the bayonet to hold it in. I'm not saying the rifle looks bad, I'm saying the rifle looks incomplete as per design.

Simonov did not intend his rifle to be used без штыка, товарищ! ;) Nice looking picture! Loving the colour on that SKS stock!

@ID64 those two rifles are absolutely beautiful...Gorgeous...And excellent camera work. Who did the receiver on the Cz?? or is that the Parkerization etc from Wolverine...?

The slant AK muzzle break really causes problems with the VZ, it causes a huge point of impact shift over a foot high left at 100m. my rifle was zeroed perfectly from the factory and then i tried that break , well it sucks ! its not meant for a VZ .. it also causes nasty sideways recoil to your cheek ..

Thats interesting. I bought my 858 used and it had the break on it already.

I also noticed POI shift. I'm going to try with the stock set up this weekend.
