Just purchased a kit south of the border that came with 2 mags for my son, we put it together tonight, looks great. But the mags, I think they are pro mag 9/22? will not fit in easily, I mean super tight fit. It is the newer mag not old stock where the rear of the mag is filed at 45 degree angle 1/8" so its not the extention that is making it tight. tried the butler creek plus the ruger magazines and work perfectly. When we finally did get the pro mag in wiht a little force, bugger to get out. That last inch to get it in is where it is sticking, so way to tight. anyone else encounter this??? so frustrating

not sure man mine fit nice out of the box. I noticed that you sort of have to put it in at an angle then push it back into the plunger, and it locks in good. also if its a full mag make sure to lock the bolt back before putting the mag in. Other than that I think someone else had that issue and it was because the receiver wasnt pushed all the way down or something, hope it works out for ya

Mmmm i wonder if anyone has successfully modded their 9/22s to consistently feed right when inserted with the bolt forward?

I only ponder this out loud because i was thinking of getting some 9/22s myself

My advise is to buy a box of Federal "blue box" 22s and load, shoot, unload, repeat. I posted this same question a while ago and I found you just have to keep inserting the mags and removing them and you will find it gets easier with time. I started without the "covers" but then when I found the technique I put the covers on and it works much easier now. They don't drop out by any means but they do go in and out much easier. I also find it's easier with the bolt back. TC
