300 WSM question???

What have you found as a good setup for 300 wsm??? I'm shooting a Tikka t3 hunter and would like some suggestions for reloading....gr size and powder type and amount..Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with me. Oh ya i will be hunting for moose and deer with these loads.
 
I like the 180gr bullets for the 300WSM. I'm using Nosler Accubonds at the moment. Haven't managed to connect with anything using those yet, but they shoot very well.

I've tried numerous powders, and I always come back to IMR4350. Usually a couple grains below max gets me the best accuracy from my rifle. Still have to try RL17 though. It's supposed to be pretty good as well.

Same for me. I get very accurate groups with the IMR 4350 with both 160 and 180 gr. bullets. Started off using 180 gr. Accubonds but decided to go with 160's and switched to Barnes TSX because of the increased velocities involved. Very pleaed with both range and field experiences
 
H4350 is the most often recommended powder for the 300WSM on the 24hourcampfire realoading forum (I've surveyed all the 300WSM threads for the last 8 years - I am very anal). Second was IMR4350.

Based on my experience for 180 TTSXs (the only bullet I've focused on), H4350 was the most accurate AND most consistent of all the powders I've tried (i.e., IMR4350, VV-N550, VVN560, RL17, RL19, IMR4831). IMR4350 and IMR4831 also produced good groups (MOA or better).

H4350 is also the powder recommended by John Barsness for the 300WSM and 180 grainers(Barness, former editor of handloader magazine).

My 180 g TTSX pet load is 62.5 g of H4350 (2945 fps). For the 168 TTSX, it is 65 g of H4350 (3050 fps). However, I've not tested other powders for the 168 TTSX - that will change after this summer.
 
My most accurate load for that exact firearm is 60gr of IMR 4350 with 180gr Hornady Interbond. 1/2 moa with my Tikka and this load. It has become my go to rifle for every hunt. Has taken 3 white-tail 2 moose and a mule deer in 3 years.

That's a slower load at around 2700fps there isn't it? Not saying it won't work, but that's 30-06 velocity.

my tikka likes 65 grns of imr 4350 over a 180 scirroco or acubond with a fed 215 primer. a little over 3000fps and sub minute groups. the scirrocos better than the a/bonds a little. have used on bear, deer and moose.
 
I have been shooting 165 gr Nosler partions in front of a max charge of H-100V. This is giving me chronographed loads of 3195 fps out of my T3 and is printing 1" 5 shot groups if I can do my part. Just trying to work on a load for some 180gr accubonds, but havent found a good load yet.

Have shot about 5 moose with the 165 nosler partition, great bullet.
 
varget with 150gr interbond it will shoot 1/2 moa some days out of my xbolt most common group size is is around .6"
