Well after reading all the great stuff on here about the sks's I decided to buy one.Got a Russian laminante refurb at ct with all matching numbers.Going to degrease tonight and hopefully try it out this weekend.Just wondering how many guys use their sks for hunting as well as plinking. My goal is to hunt deer with this gun if it shoots good.I have a tika 30-06 for the watches that have longer shooting but I was looking for a gun to use on those watches that have fast shooting under 75 yards.Hoping this will fit the bill and if it don't then I have a very cool gun just to shoot. The best thing about buying this gun is the hours worth of info you guys have already put on here.So thanks to all that have taken the time to post the info for newbs like me.Hopefully in the near future I will be able to contribute as well.

it is a very versatile rifle i love mine however is one going to be enough? i am thinking i want another one to hack apart and mutate.

Welcome.. Mine has a booboo ATM and not working right, lol. Gunsmith soon cause I'm at a loss.. Gotta get a russian one soon tho and compare it to my Chinese ;)

Ps the oven trick works great to get cosmolene off.. Enjoy

:D ...thats why I ended up having five.Always tried to get one for above mentioned reason,...and discovered it was too nice to do so.
Well, actually No 4 was exactly the thing...No.5 was just bought because it was nice.Try to live with one,you might as well sell it (to me...;) )

Congrats and Welcome.....good luck and try not to buy more...:p The little buggers reproduce like Rabbits.
