Springfield Armory , way too much bling for me .... but with the financing available and the high regard for the rifle in the States they will sell all 500 soon enough I think.

They all have serial numbers already and I am looking forward to my rifles NOT being registered and NOT accompanied by a numbered certificate.
 
and that would be SPRINGFIELD ARMORY COMPANY, not springfield armory government armory; ie it's a COMMERCIAL m1a that LOOKS like an m14; but that's where the similarity ends - your norc has about as much provinance- for the money, you get the LOWEST grade m1a, and a whole lot of GOLD PLATE- these guys have done just about every gun that has ever seen the light of day in some sort of bling, including the lemat revolvers-

They don't sell as fast as one would think, $4000 US is a deal breaker for many people. Some of the guns offered by the American Historical Foundation have been available for years so my guess is that they don't sell them like hot cakes. Their ads are posted in almost every American gun magazine and some of their guns are still advertised for sale for at least ten years.

NEWS FOR YOU- fire selector was NOT gold plated- and it wasn't issued with the gun- out of the factory, you got a KNOB that was pinned in place- the sa/fa lever was in a baggie with a spring , and according to ORDERS , was installed by the unit armorer at BATTALION LEVEL- in other words, only a select few got the a1 version- the rest of us got the button- of course, like most things army, if you got ahold of the bits. a hammer and a pin punch , you'd be in business in seconds

I like M1A's but this is a bit too Franklin mint for me. Order now and get the 1949 Ford delivery wagon. Parkerizing suits the rifle.

actually, that MISCONCEPTION was one of the late dave tomlinson 's greatest arguments- " you can't take a semi-automatic and make a CONVERTED semi-automatic out of it'; b/c the rifle LEFT THE FACTORY as a semi-automatic , IT SHOULD BE DEEMED SEMI-AUTOMATIC ( a gun is what it is, not what you can modify it into) but the scoc wouldn't hear the arguement
note- it could have been christ himself preaching the second coming , and it wouldn't have mattered - the scoc is FULL OF LIBERAL APPOINTEES- and b'c it's LABELED as a MACHINE GUN by the batf, we followed suit, rather than find out for ourselves
