I noticed in pics of the Classic .22cal P226 it looks like the frame is made in the US and the regular 9mm P226 has a frame made in Germany. Any difference?

try SIG forum, they have there a lot of odd comments pro/con ref German vs US frames
IMHO there is no special alloy formula in German frames comparing with US made

It's the same and it doesn't limit to the Classic 22lr. All 'new stock' P226 that have the UU serial are made in the US.

Yes they have magic German fairy dust on them ;)

Hahaha...so true.

Being serious though, why would the German made frames be any different than the ones made in the US? Are the manufacturing processes/tolerances different or is there better quality control in Germany or...???...

Well I have never seen a USA frame rail crack, but I have seen afew German P225 rail crack.

I dont understand why everyone thinks all Euro guns are better then US made ones.

I love SIG USA guns and yes I have seen one or two bad ones "it happens", but that is out of hundreds.

I've had both a German and US made Sig one a P226 and the other a P220. As far as I could tell they had the same quality, shot everytime I pulled the trigger and were dead on. Really who cares who has the better frame especially up here in Canada, its not like we have our lives depend on our pistols. Just but the gun and shoot the crap out of it and some targets and have fun!
