My concern would be that the seating plug be the same profile as the bullet being seated. For example, I wouldn't use the round nose plug on the TC as it may not seat consistently. I know for lead bullets it could actually deform the bullet. Probably not with the jacketed but I would want to make sure the seater plug matches the bullet regardless.
As mentioned the OAL would have to be adjusted.
 
Im using a semi wad cutter. Seems to be working well. Found some info to set oal to 1.2 inches. gonna be a nice batch! 200 rnds and counting.

I haven't used TC's in the .45 but have used them a lot in the 9mm and .40. They feed flawlessly and I see no reason why your TC's in .45 wouldn't perform as well. Let us know.
Curious: what bullet weight and load are you using?
 
HOWDY ; I used some TC bullets and seated them like round nose . THe sides of the bullet on TC hit the rifling and would not chamber fully. Had to seat them deeper and reduce the powder charge due to the decreased case space. THe deeper the bullet is seated the more pressure you make. Read a good reloading book or three , I always do.
 
Truncated cone factory loads were the only rounds my Colt 1911 simply refused to feed. Never bought any TC bullets, 'cause I never saw the need to engage in self aggravation for no particular gain.
