Savage 93, 17 HMR high cap mags? Can I buy/make them?

so today in the mail 2 of these beauties arrived - not in kit for but fully assembled and operational.
I will try to get some pic's up tomorrow so you can see what they look like ( also so I can EE 1 , got 2 and don't need the second )
so fit and finish is like OEM except the view window is in the shape of a bullet - nice touch.
I'll try to get these out to the range soon , but with christmas at our heals and it being so nippy out there is no guaranties --- pic's to follow :)

yeah the people at 17hmrmag.com tell me they ship to canada and their mags will fit my 93R17 mako Edition just fine... with shipping they come to $58 or so for a two pack :)

I'm thinking about ordering a pair.. will wait for jeffs report.

Im waiting for that as well. I think they might have alot of canadian orders soon

I'll order one. Nice. Sick of that 5 cap mag. (plus the OEM one often misfeeds on my 93R17. Bullet hits below the chamber. Then I have to press a few times on the case and re-try).

Love mine so far, feeding .22WMR through my 93FVTR. ;)

Only issue I've found is when I insert this mag, it goes in about 80% of the way (pushing straight in) and then stops. To seat it, I have to grab the bottom of the mag and apply some forward pressure (towards the muzzle) and then push up towards the receiver and in it goes. It can be inserted in one fluid motion once you realize this, with no more effort than inserting a normal Savage mag...just thought I'd point this out to anyone on the fence. They work fine/fit fine..just different than the factory ones...and not "better" different.

+1, I just got mine. Feeds 17hmr fine, but I was a bit scared when it would'nt go all the way in the gun first time. I dropped the stock off the gun to see where it was hitting, but it's a very minor issue once you shove the mag in a couple of times. After using the crappy tin mag that Savage makes, the aftermarket one seems way better quality and it's the fact that it fits so snug with no movemant that makes it a little harder to seat at first.
Don't think my 5 rd mags will get a lot of work this summer!

Just shot mine today, using it in my 93FV .22WMR. While I didn't force the issue, I couldn't get a 10th round in this mag. Even 9 was tough. Used it as an 8-rounder, but I think I'll try 10 again...and leave them in the mag in hopes the spring softens just a tad.

Looked pretty cool though. :)

got mine btw. they work fine.

charge to 9, let them sit overnight, charge to 10 next morning.

Quite stiff to charge to 10 first time.

When did you order yours? I ordered mine on the 12th and they were shipped out the 14th. I'm just wondering what kind of time frame it is to get here.

UPDATE: I just got mine in the mail this morning. I have yet to try them in my rifle, but they appear quite well built. Mine did come with a notice on the bag saying: "Please insert only 9 rounds for the first 4 uses to insure proper break in of plastic."

They only took a week and a half to get here. That's from the time i placed the order. Pretty good I think.
