we had one hit at just under a mile with a 308 yesterday load was a 178 AMax max charge of Varget in a long action Savage loaded long way long scope was maxed out and holding over 4 mil dots lots came close only one hit

Targets will be painted jan 30th. Getting closer. 8 confirmed. With a 200yd zero, my 155gr bullet drops 1859 inches(98.6moa) out to 1800 yards. cool

this is promising then i should have enough in my scope and with my base then for it to make the trip out that far then

I would say that 500 is close enough to have a start zero Others might feel different tho.

Targets are on the trailer. Shooting line snow removed. Outhouse returned to spot in woods!! 2nd Trailer is loaded with firewood and fire ring. I'll start putting out targets Friday afternoon. LIG

Well another awesome shoot complete. Met some new friends, re-aquainted with some old friends. Great weather. LIG
Good news, a 308 will reach a mile. I know because I didn't beat around the bush, I went right after the mile target. I had incentive Stevesummit was offering a bottle to the first to hit the one mile target with a 308. Couldn't see any marks on the target from the shooting line. So I called a cease fire and went to paint targets and check my progress. This is what I saw and I was the only one shooting at the 1 mile target at the time. 11 hits
And this is what I found on the ground in front of the target. Nosler CC 155gr jackets
5 people hit the mile target today, 3 - 308s, 1 6.5-284 and the 338 win mag came through again. Good times. Here are some more targets. 2nd trip down to the target.

Some of the hits show that the bullet was sideways. Some 338s skipped into the target and laid in front of it, after bouncing off the yellow gong!!

Well drink it well I will be back to drill some holes through that steel with my 338AI come fall .it was a pleasure to shoot with everyone today, another great group of guys and lots of knowledge passed around .hope to see everyone that couldn't make it at Hugh's fall shoot or at the nordegg river shoot which will be coming up early spring Thanks Hugh
