Damn it, I want a suppressor!!!

Ha Haaaa, I just sent for a packet of form 1's for a couple of suppressors.
It can take quite a while for approval sometimes but I have time.
One .22 rimfire and one .22 centerfire
Not being a prick but I saw the thread and couldn't help it, was just looking at the new threaded Ruger MKIII pistol this week at the funshop and decided to send some more forms in.

I did meet him at SHOT in Orlando..right after the bunch of them got turfed off arfcom. He saw my shot badge (which had my screen name on it as well as my real name) and he disappeared from their booth. He definitely looked like the mad scientist type though.
Kevin..I'll take your word for that but if you had dealt with him like I / we did..you'd think other wise.

Silvers still follows ARFCOM quite regularly and occasionally makes references to threads from there on his own sites.

I haven't been on ARFCOM in many years so I don't know much of the drama that takes place there. Striker, you've been affiliated with them since he 1990's haven't you? Been a long haul for you now. How've you managed to maintain the interest for so long considering all the hassles?

I can't remember the exact date I joined but it would have been around 98 or so.
Give up a ring side seat to the best show on the internet?:D
Actually I don't spend much time surfing the forums anymore. Most days it takes me a couple of hours to do the things I look after there and catch up on what is going on.
I enjoy helping the Avila's..they are like family now. Plus the mods and fellow staff I've met in person are second to none.
I've been threatening now for the last couple of years to write a book with Edsr about the site. Suppose it would make the times top 10 list? lol

I have seen the Avila's and the membership do some amazing things over the years to help total strangers. Just when you think they can't out do themselves..they do, again and again. It helps restore a persons faith in humanity. That is a big part of what keeps me motivated.

I can see AAC from my house!!! Well not really it's about a 40 min drive for me. I was going to go the .300 Whisper route but this one makes more sense. When I get my .300 Blackout built, I'll get a pallet of ammo to go with it. My boss already has one. I hate it when people have more toys than me.

All the gunshops around my neighborhood carry the AAC products.

Don't whine to us non-suppressor owning, AR restricted Canucks about people who have more toys. :(

ok forget owning the real one. Where can I get fake can now? I went to Questar but they only accept advance order. Who sell fake can in stock??

What do you want to put it on? It isn't rocket science to make one. I'll make you one as long as you can live with a thread-on.

S&W M&P 15-22. I know it's not a rocket science, but not every one has the time and tools to make one.

What do you mean "with a thread-on"? Aren't they all have thread where you need to screw them on? I am looking the Spike's CAR-1 one. The thread in on the tip so it makes the barrel looks shorter.

Thread on to the barrel rather than a QD mount to the flash suppressor. I can do a threaded fake can but a QD mount is a whole different ball of wax.

I have no clue at all what you just said. What's QD stands for?

The barrel already has a thread on. I have flash hinder installed on it.

QD = Quick Detach
Some install by threading on your existing threads and others attach by sliding over the flash suppressor or use a proprietary mount that installs without threading on.

Hey Suputin, I vaguely recall reading a post of yours on another forum stating that a community could own a suppressor legally for pest control.....true?

True. Any government agency, federal, provincial or municipal may purchase and use sound suppressors. All that is needed is a PAIN (Public Agency Identification Number). I know of a city zoo that has purchased suppressors for pest control. So it can be any agency as long as it is part of a government burocracy.

For me, I'd ask for an official purchase order signed by someone in a management position. That is just to ensure the transfer is official and it is going to the government agency and not an employee.
