There's value added to buying an AR first, then building your second.... That's what I'm doing, with the spare parts I replaced from my original... However, ARs are really easy to work on and there are plenty of good videos out ther, ITS Tactical put out a good series on YouTube, also there's Brownells too... So theres not shortage of resources...

If money's not really an issue, build it.... You'll learn lots!

In terms of missing parts... Buffer spring, rear sight, gas tube and gas block, and a front sight... You can choose to use the classic AR A2 style front sight and gas block.... And a muzzle break too, and some mags

Also, there are a few tools you'll need, barrel wrench and spanner wrench for the castle nut, (oh you'll need one of those too, along with the rear plate)

And you'll want a good set of punches and roll pin starters, don't get the brass ones.... They get warped too easily...

You don't necessarily need the action blocks and vice grip blocks, but they make the job easier

Good luck have fun!

Great choice of parts, i'm building one as well (my first AR) and also bought these parts.. :)

VLTOR mur upper
Cadex lower
Daniel defense lower parts kit
BCM gunfighter charge handle

I think i am going to ditch the cadex and vltor for the ATRS upper and lower. As he said he can send me the upper complete and the lower complete with the timney skeleton trigger installed and coated tan, that way i dont have to worry about assembling it my self...

Any thoughts on my choice? Or should i stick with my original plan?

Im building this AR to be a long range shooter...

Well, depends on how expensive they complete set is versus the original plan.... I love the look of the matching atrs set though....

If you get them per-assembled, then you're missing out on the fun of putting it all together, I personally found that to be half the fun! Maybe you can get them to send you the atrs set un-assembled?

Im going to do an 18" barrel so for the gas tube and forend which size do i need?

Carbine, rifle or mid?

If you're going for distance, you probably want at least a mid length.... I like the look of the mid-length with the rifle length hand guards...

I think also, if you want a precision rifle, you'll want free floating hand guards...
