AG 42 B INFO lots of pics

The mag is worth $90 alone. You did very well. Now, before you get carried away with this rifle, Google the M42ag and find out how to keep it happy and you out of trouble.

Was the rifle already sanded before you applied the shiney finish???

The rifle is worth about 3 times what you paid for it.

Get yourself a MANUAL before you start messing with it. The M-1 Garand is famed far and wide for wrecking thumbs; the AG-42B wrecks your whole HAND...... and it gives you zero warning. Ugly part is that you do it to yourself!

Once you know what you are doing with it, instal a gas regulator, get some ammo and you will have likely the most accurate semi-auto battle rifle ever built. Sandbag one of these in, feed it what it likes and there are many reports of 1-inch 10-round groups at 100 yards; the Stag 2TL so favoured by SWAT teams is regarded as wonderful because of its tight 4-inch groups!

Hmmm......

You got yourself a Very Nice Toy.

You're making me wish that I hadn't gotten rid of mine.

However, on the upside, I got a 1943 BSA No1MkIII* for it. Someday I will have to get another AG.

You will also want to find a tool/maintenance kit for it. It contains lots of useful bits. IE new extractors, springs, and other bolt goodies, as well as a chamber cleaning tool and some other tools.

So long as you us what is between your ears you will be fine. I used mine, when I had it, incident free for a month and a half. Then I read about its thumb eating caracteristics, and I still never got bit. Remember, the greatest safety is your head.
