Help me pick! Kel-Tec Sub2000 vs. EMF JR Carbine vs. Thureon Defense

Yep thats what I meant. So let me get this straight as of right now the Thureons come with 5 round mags, but hopefully soon you'll have 10 round mags available?

Yes. Worth mentioning, we have the 10rnd mags at our exporter, they should have been in this shipment, we're not waiting on them to be manufactured or shipped from the factory, that part is done.

on a side note they do look better when accessories are added

Another question I have is could the fore-end on the Thureon come off so you could replace it with a wood stock, or is it one-piece with the receiver?

I think these look better than the JR carbine, and I would be interested in getting a glock-mag .45 ACP version for my Dad.

Hey D.Tree - are the 10rnd 9mm mags, near flush to the magwell?

I handled one ( a TD9) at Lanz the other week and I really liked it, but I've gotta say, they sure look a heck of a lot better in the pics with those 30rnd smg mags.

30, pinned to 10 would be delightful!!!

My JR...the JR's take standard hanguards for AR-15's and will line up with the top rail on the receiver.

As for the sub2000s, they feel flimsy, but are surprisingly solid.

I think the only people who rag on it are mall ninjas who don't like the fact that its handy folding feature (Great for stowing and transport) precludes the installation of their "tactical" junk.

+1, buy the sub for what it is (a cheap, unique, Glock mag taking, accurate fun machine), and buy an AR if you want one too.

Talked to the guys making the Highpoint carbine at Shot, the .45 and .40cal use their pistol mags and they are working to change their 9mm to take a pistol mag as well.

Did you ask them to add a factory non restricted barrel? It would sell like hotcakes up here for the price

I have to agree with this. High-Point 9mm carbines with non-restricted barrels and ten round mags for under $400 would sell huge.

Does the Thureon Defence carbine have a last shot hold open feature?

I know the JR-Carbine does not lock back on empty.

the sub-2000 retails for ~$350 in the USA. For 350, its a good little gun. after shooting one, i would never pay $700 for it. very poorly made. that being said, its a great little gun, but not worth tyhe price in canada.

Maybe a couple of inches out?

The pistol mags work well, and hold 10, but I have a soft spot in my heart for SMGs. SMG mags are built to stick out of military machine pistols. They're vertical. They're solid. You can hang on to them if you want. You can smack them around. They look cool. They work for shooting strings. Glock mags are strong pistol mags, but they're not 32rnd steel Uzi/Colt SMG mags.

Then again, if I had a closet full of Glock mags, as many people do, I could switch that position pretty quick. In which case, we will have the TD9GA certainly in time for spring.

We assume most Canadian shooters will purchase the GA Glock mag models, making the SMG version rarer and cooler.;)

Neat feature with the GA model is the AR type mag release, as does the SA SMG mag model.
