what are the best presses on the market today?

I just bought a brand new RCBS Rockchucker Supreme Kit from Cabelas. They are almost 50% off right now. Plus some RCBS accessories put me over $300 so I qualified for the rebate. This press operates smoothly and accurately. I am extremely happy with my purchase.
 
Anything Dillon

You can't go wrong with any of the Dillon Presses. So easy to use. I have the RL550B and pump out 4-500 rounds per hour on my hand gun calibers. Still works good with rifle but I use it as single stage for precision.

This is OT, but there is a new, revised, primer feed system for the Loadmaster......

Contact Mysticprecision. I bought mine though Jerry, and with shipping even he was a bit cheaper then that.

For me it's co-axial 1st, rock chucker 2nd.
 
Not that I've noticed!

I have a 1050 with a Mr Bullet feeder and a PW autodrive. It replaced the 550 I used without issue for 12 years...

Dillon gets my vote...

The discussion here is primarily about single stage presses. IMHO Dillion is still the gold standard when it comes to progressive presses.

BTW, I use a Redding Big Boss II single stage press and I love it. Great construction, rock solid, no wobble and made in the USA.
 
Well I just had a chance to load up about 200 40 S&W and about 300 9mm's on my new to me loadmaster and i liket it!!! the priming system as stated has to be watched but the output is fantastic!! i havent seen the bottom of my 40 S&W bullet tray in awhile but it ate through it with ease and very fast i have the new primer feeders on the way so i am hoping it will cure my small issues and as stated in my last post i will continue to buy Lee :)

I don't think so. I have a 550b and I like it alot. Not sure I would trade it for another machine. I actually like manually indexing for some odd reason.

For a single stage I have a good old rockchucker.

Despite advise otherwise, and despite not being particularly fond of *most* lee equipment, I recently purchased a Lee progressive, too. I figured that, for the cost (on sale, about $130), it was a risk I could take. And it's not hard to unload them on the EE for more than that, I've seen.

So, what I found was that they actually *work!* They are absolutely not for everyone; the fit and finish is poor, they seem flimsy and cheap, and they do require careful attention and extended tweaking to get everything working right. But, if you're capable of a little patience and attention, they do turn out excellent ammo, at a really good rate. I loaded up a box of 1000 Cam Pros in about 90 minutes (I've got a case collator and bullet feeder). If you don't rush things, and pay attention to the primer feed and feel, and you ensure your case and bullet tubes are always full, you can produce excellent ammunition very quickly. I do really like the powder system, too - that's the high point of the entire system; I'd even buy it for use on other systems; it's that slick and accurate. It throws charges with a very high consistency and reliability.
 
The Autodrive cycles at a rate of 900 rounds per hour. There is also a 1200 round per hour version...

It's not a race but I never had ammo loaded when I ran the 550...now I have buckets full.

All I have to do is keep the powder, primers, cases and bullet feeders full...and flip the toggle.

Not cheap to set up but...less time at the bench means more time on the range.

If money is a not a factor buy a CH Rock Crusher. At $1326.00 and 103LBS it will outlast you and garnder a lot of press envy among your friends.:dancingbanana:
