I'm thinking of getting into the business of selling surplus rifles and ammo and was wondering where I can buy supplies a wholesale prices.

I've asked a few dealers but they seem to keep their contacts a secret.

Yeah.. Me too... I'd like to buy @ wholesale prices too!

;)

Just for what it's worth - no one is going to give up their sources, if they are valuable, on an open forum on the internet.

Really? I can't imagine why other established firearms dealers wouldn't like more competition? [/sarc]

I bought my SKS at Wholesale pricing. It was $157 in one of their sales. I bought my ammo at Things Military pricing.

Buy investor packs and sit on them till your grandchildren arrive?

My father said you could get a Lee Enfield for $15.00 years ago and now you can't get them for twenty times that much. How much is an sks or Nagant going to be worth in twenty years?

If I spent eight hours a day working with surplus rifles I would have a hard time calling it work. Thats why the interest is getting into the business.

No ones arguing that it wouldn't be a great profitable business.

We are saying no ones going to give up their best sources over an open internet forum. That would be bad for their business.

How many do you want to buy. Are you going to import yourself. Do you have license and warehouse to store a container load or you want to do it in your garage. if you want to start selling surplus you need initial investment $$$$$$ It might sound easy and fun but it is not that easy.
Contacts overseas are guarded by each dealer and none of us will give it up. Sorry this is the way it is, but we will sell you surplus rifles as soon as those in Canada

Cheers

Would love to set something up down this end of the country, not much here that is competitive in pricing. I would like to buy local ,as we all would but most (not all ) times I can get guns or ammo or even knives delivered to my door , much cheaper than our local stores! There is not much variety either.

I cant blame you for wanting to be a dealer.. who wouldn't want a case of 7.62x39 for fifty bucks?... or an sks rifle for about the same.

Sadly it takes a lot of cash to get into the game, and a serious comitment to the business of running the show.

Im happy to pay what the dealers are asking.. seems fair, and without the headaches.:D

I was thinking of buying a few hundred rifles at a time not a few thousand. Was thinking of building an armory in the garage. I was hoping to buy a slightly marked up price from one of the dealers in Canada and not take my chances with some Russian stranger. I might have ten grand to spend on inventory if the prices were low enough to make it worth my while. I don't have a license right now because I wanted to know if it is worth my while before spending too much time and money on the business.
