M&P9: Is this normal

Gentlemen, it's a 600 dollar pistol. What do you expect? And it's not like these M&P's are going to be a family heirloom some day...they're a dime a dozen. Just shoot the crap out of it and have fun.

It's still 600$ I spent. Since its my first ever gun, it has a little more significance to me. If S&W are putting lifetime warranty on them, then I'll make sure mine is perfect working condition. I'll clean it everyday if I want. Just because they make millions of them doesn't mean I can't take proper care of it.

I've owned 3 M&P's - 2x 9mm and 1x 45. They certainly aren't Wilson Combat 45 autos, but they are not designed to be. The M&P is simple to use, accurate, light and durable. I've put a total (all 3 M&P's ) of about 30,000 rounds through them, with virtually nothing in the way of issues. They run well when pushed hard, are capable of very good accuracy and can be shot well at very high speed. What they are not is particularly attractive, and they don't have fine tolerances, as a working tool I would not hesitate to carry one, but as a collectors gun? - not so much. The pride of ownership with the M&P comes from how many rounds it's had through it and how hard you've run it without the wheels falling off.

For those truly concerned about the poor fit and finish of the M&P series of pistols, I offer a humanitarian solution...

I, Fuchsix, have started a not-for-profit foundation for physically handi-capped M&P's of all calibers. Here at 'Fuchi's Home for Wayward Smith & Wessons' we will look after them, and love them as if they are not suffering from their horrible disfigurements. All you need to do is send them to us (pre-paid shipping please, we're not-for-profit!) and we will integrate them into a comfortable gun-room where they can live out their natural lives.

:agree: $600 is still $600 out of your pocket.

This is truly a humanitarian effort on your part, my hat's off to you sir! Every-time I think of those ugly, deformed little ba$tards it makes me want to lend a hand as well........and then I come around to rational thinking again:p
