question about reducing muzzle blast

I have an 11.5" Dlask and I really like it but it sure is loud. I don'y usually wear ear plugs for my other 22's but I need to for this. Does anybody make a 1/2 x 28 tpi attachment that will tame the noise a bit? I'm not looking for a suppressor just wondering if any of the flash hiders/breaks/compensators help with the noise factor. It is a sporter weight barrel too so that might make it tougher to find something.

hiders/breaks/comps usually either increase the noise, or do nothing about it. Due to our laws anything that decreases the noise is prohibited device, so you're pretty much SOL.

There are a few hiders that don't decrease noise, but direct more of it down range like ATRS's flash hider. However it's not a cheap option, where as good electronic muffs can be had for half the price.

How about the Levang Comp that Dlask sells? It's a blow forward model that would probably direct the noise down range nicely. I used to own one myself and it worked well, but then again the noise generated from my barrel before I used it wasn't than bad to begin with

I guess what I'm saying is I'm not looking to decrease noise, just direct it away from the shooter. This might not be possible though. Also I'm not a fan of muffs. For me its just plugs for 22.

I'll definetly look into the levang comp. It might look wierd on a sporter weight barrel though. Thanks.

No more than a brake on an AR would be ... depends on who makes your barrel, if it's a dlask or oem. I believe they measure .720 - .750. The Levang is a .920 and is bigger but I don't think it would look weird by any means.
