Is the ejector on these supposed to work the same as an 870? Mine doesn't seem to have an ejector if thats possible... But seems to eject relatively decent if I don't run it too fast though.

As I mentioned above, I did some trigger work on mine.

I first removed the trigger itself and ground down one side of the trigger. Gave it the two-tone look!

The filed side:

The sharp side (not filed yet):

So I filed that side as well and put it back in. No more sharp edges on the trigger.

I the looked at the hammer as the trigger pull was scratchy:

I took a jewelers file and smoothed out the notch VERY lightly:

I plan on using some grit compound in there to finish the smoothing. The jeweler file took away most of the "sandy feel".

Next was the nasty carrier. Damn sharp edges:

I used a file just along the edge of the carrier to smooth off the edge:

Finally, I decided since I had it apart, I would take the edge off the slide rails on the inside of the receiver:

A little closer look:

The file slipped a few times and I got a few file kisses on the inside, but at least, I won't cut anymore fingers, :) ( I read the post about how they were sharp but I guess I had to feel them and cut my own fingers to find out!):

And for your viewing pleasure, an 870 trigger group (2011 Express) next to the Norinco.

The 870 hammer, note the deep release on hammer:

And the 780 hammer, note the shallow release:

Well, all assembled, my 870 feel better and has a better trigger but I did not pay $90 for that! I think after a bit of use, the 780 should function well.

how does the norc 780's bolt breech compare to the 870? are they interchangeable?

website

Just went on the website. (Back of Manual) hit the tanslate button but all they show is minig monitor equipment,HA,no wonder they have so many mine disasters over there! If the QC is the same for their minig gear! However there was no sign of firearms manufacturing or parts distribution. Maybe I will email them .

I have a Mossberg 500 as my main shotgun. I use it for hunting, bush tramping, trap, and just plain old blasting.

The problem I'm having, is every time I pick up the 780, my fingers and thumb all go to the wrong places. The safety and pump release are located differently and I'm worried that I might miss a bird or bunny while hunting if I get too familiar with the 780.

Anyone else own both a Mossberg and an 870? (or even similar guns with differently place controls) Do you find that this is a real problem or am I over-thinking this?

Here is a pic of the two next to my Mossberg Maverick 88 aka Mexican Mossberg 500.

No man, you are right on the money. For me I keep going to the wrong place for the pump release.

I guess I'll either have to sell the 500 and pick up an 870 or else sell the 780 and wait for Noinco to make a cheap copy of the 500.

You know what would be awesome? A 16" barrel for the 500. (can't go too much shorter than that due to the mag tube) If anyone has one, I'll trade my 780 for it! :D

Got mine today! For a $90 scattergun, I'm totally satisfied. Dunno when I'll make it to the range next to try it out. I was actually going to buy a remington 870, but this deal was too good to pass up. The 870 will be next months purchase :D

You are probably right ,whats with the crazy prices on the ee, sks that I can get untouched for $169. fom tradeex and the EE guy wants $350 . By the way I was just kidding about selling,it will make a cool conversation piece if nothing else,,,unless he's serious about paying $300. ;0)

So it's not just me. I've been looking through the EE for quite a while and found the prices high too. Most people posting there don't even have the overhead of a storefront. Really no good deals on it. I rarely visit the EE now.... I'd rather buy from a real brick and mortar store for the same price or less.

Hilariously, upon closer inspection, the manual that came with mine isn't even for this gun, it's for a Norinco JW-2005, which appears to be a clone of a Mossberg 500 Laugh2

I have a maverick 88 and the 780 and use a 870 at work. I have no issues switching from one to the other. You just have to remember what firearm your using and my fingers seem to know where to put themselves

CP just dropped off my 780 about an hour ago. Took it apart and cleaned the crap out of it and it seems to function fine if you don't short stroke it or pump it too hard. Just like most things in life I guess lol

I had a 780 Homeland Security and the Magazine Tube broke off it while i was dry cycling ...but in all fairness that could happen to any Firearm just make sure you check it out good.
