Slugs and Poly Chokes

Hello there shotgun folks,
I recently found a shotgun on EE which uses an adjustable 'poly-choke/ C-lect'. Basically from what I've seen its a choke which can actually be adjusted to several settings. Does anyone know if they can handle slugs? The seller wasn't sure, and neither am I.

I had an old Mossberg bolt with a Polychoke once and I fired slugs with it but kept it set imp cyl and even a bit more open. I didn't fire hundreds of slugs but never had an issue.

If you can stand the look of a shotgun with a polychoke, it will work for all occasions...... trap, skeet, ducks, geese, quail, deer.

No problems whatsover shooting slugs.

I don't miss my first shotgun at all... ( an old Mossberg bolt action with an adjustable choke)

I have an older mossberg bolt with one.The c-lect choke will work with slugs but its not to be used with steel shot just lead.

Keep it set open and kill deer. It was made to handle rifled slugs. (foster types)Saboted slugs are not worth the money.

They are if you use a rifled barrel. But that is a different discussion altogether.

In regards to the OP, like it has been said: Open it as wide as it will go and have at it. Be sure to practice with it first though.

Not to hijack your thread but I recently noticed this item manufactured by Truglo.

It's a threaded polychoke that takes the place of a standard threaded fixed choke. Interesting how they used old technology on a new platform.

That Tru-glo choke is ugly as sin! I do know that some of the old poly chokes were actually marked "slug" as a setting. My old A-5 barrel isn't one of em though

only thing to watch for is excessive lead fouling between the "folds" of your choke LOL no seriously
