I'm looking at getting one of these throwers and I'm wondering if anyone out there owns or has used one? I'm looking for something fairly powerful that will throw clays about 100yds. and this is the only one that I've found so far. I like the versatility that this thrower offers in that you can throw bounding rabbits with it as well, and with the wobbler kit you can aim the clays giving the shooter more of a challenge.
So basically if anyone has any experience with these and can put in their 2 cents as to whether or not they're worth the money I would greatly appreciate it. They're pretty expensive for a manual thrower, so I want to make sure that I'm getting the best bang for my buck before I go out and spend the money. Also, if you have something that you think is better then by all means throw that in here too. I am, however, trying to stay away from the automatic throwers because the good ones are just way too expensive.
Thanks in advance.

If you watch posts on this forum you will see that there seem to be alot of problems with the Do-All machines. A few posts indicated they have not had a problem but generally this is not the case. A friend of mine bought one and it broke on the first target. Service/replacement however seems to be ok.

For my money I would go with Lincoln. Just google it. Price is $688 US FOB factory for a combo unit which has a regular double arm and a double rabbit arm. If you want to reach out 100 yds you need to order it with the red spring however this tends to break rabbit targets when they hit the ground. The blue spring is a good compromise. I have never heard of anyone having a problem with these machines. Our club owns about a dozen.

I have been researching this model of trap as well, and I have found almost all good reviews about the Do-all 3/4 #### manual, traps in the professional models (red ones).

I have noticed that the do-all electric traps seem to have really poor feedback, due to quality issues though.

I think for the price, and the good reviews I have found, I will likely be trying out one these ones myself.

I looked at the Lincoln traps as well. I have seen them and actually tried them out, and they are for sure the Cadillac of manual throwers, but at almost $700 each, they are a little steep for casual use. If money was no object however, I'd have Lincoln thrower for sure!

Skip.

Salter,

I appreciate your feedback. I am going to have to agree with Gixer on this one, for the money I think that it's probably a great trap thrower, but for my usage I think that it might be a little expensive. Althought I know that you can't put a price on quality.

Gixer,

I also have researched the crap out of it and have found the same thing that you have. The Pro line seems to get pretty good reviews from what I have seen. And with the option of being able to throw rabbits too and the wobbler kit being so cheap I also think that this is the way to go. If you get one in the near future please let me know what you think of it. It's going to be at least another month, probably 2 before I get one.

Thanks for your replies!!!

Will do Hammerhead. I too likely won't have one until the spring, probably the end of March I would think. If I do end up with a do-all pro, I'll be sure to post up a review, and I'll pm you. If you get one before me, could you please do the same.

Thanks!

Gix.

So I finally got the trap and put it together. In the end I decided to go with the Do-All Outdoors Pro Single 3/4 #### trap unit. I figured that for the amount of times I would use both of them it just wasn't worth the extra money. I did, however, get the wobbler kit for it.
First impressions after putting it together are very good. It's pretty easy to put together and it seemed to go together without a hitch. Well, okay, one of the small screws that attach the counter weight to the thrower was bent, so I had to go and buy a new on which cost me $.07, but other then that...
It seems to be very well build. All of the welds seems to be pretty solid and the parts seem very robust. The only weak point in the unit that I can see is the seat. It seems that it's kinda flimsy and that if it were a cold day that it might break easily.
Although I haven't actually taken it out skeet shooting yet, I have had it on the back deck throwing a few clays (to which my girlfriend accused me of being a, "huge redneck). The clays threw very well and the unit is not very hard to #### at all. There is a lot of play in the spring tensioner so you can set the unit to throw however far you want (within reason). I didn't get too crazy with the spring tension the first time that I tried it, but I would say that the clays were being thrown to about 75-80 yards pretty consistently. I don't really see any issues getting it out to the 100yds that the unit promises.
When I get out to actually bust some clays I'll put another update on this unit with actual measurements as to what this bad boy can do... maybe even post some pics.
